This is a very big game in the overall scheme of things. It won’t bode well for us if we need to go 6/7 games with teams like NO and Dallas. The Warriors/Bucks/Celts possibly even Memphis if they pull out a miracle are all much more challenging than what we are seeing now. These inconsistent efforts against teams like that will absolutely kill us. Even when we play great those teams could still beat us on a given night.

We need to stop worrying about what might happen if we get to the next round or rounds.

We need to take care of business tomorrow in Dallas, period.

This!
Part of our successful strategy throughout the season was due to us taking ONE GAME AT A TIME and really focusing on the task at hand. These listless letdowns and uninspiring play on our part (I believe) are largely due to us being somewhat overconfident because of our regular season dominance. So we're continually overlooking these teams and maybe disillusioning ourselves into thinking our return to the finals is a foregone conclusion. But we have to remember that nothing is guaranteed us in spite of our regular season dominance! We have to take each game and focus in on getting back our edge and mentality of "having something to prove."

If we can focus on each individual game as our big challenge, Then I believe we can maintain a better, more consistent effort and hopefully also a sense of urgency! IF I was Monty, I would try and emphasize a mentality of viewing each game from here on out a a "sudden death" type of must-win elimination game to help maintain that sense of urgency.

That's always the case nonstop freaking out over a single loss. No team has ever gone undefeated in the playoffs a few teams lost a game or two though. Playoffs are supposed to be difficult no matter who you play.

No freaking out here on my part. I along with many others here fully anticipated the Mavs at the very least stealing a home game as is the nature of the game anyways. Am I concerned about the lack of consistent energy, tenacity, and sense of urgency................. Of course. But I don't think anyone here can honestly say with a straight face that we would sweep Dallas. Again the nature of the NBA (especially in the playoffs) is kind of like a chess match in that momentum changes within a team's strategy and counter-strategies. The teams/ coaches that make the best/ timely strategies steal the momentum and possibly the series. The best overall team usually wins out barring an anomalous surprising performance from the opposing team. Overall the wins and losses are just part of the ebbs and flows of the game. We just need to reclaim momentum and swing game 4 to secure control of the series and then close it out accordingly on our homecourt in game 5. And we'll definitely do that in game 4 with much better effort and physicality and securing the 50/50 balls and cutting down on our turnovers. Lastly! by utilizing our size mismatches on the interior. NO MORE BEING DOMINATED BY A SMALLER TEAM IN THE PAINT. Big games by Ayton and Mcgee. :D

The Mavs broke an 11-game losing streak with their win in Game 3...time for the Suns to start another 11-game win streak.

I don’t think anyone’s overreacting over one loss. And I don’t think there’s a single Suns fan not just on this forum but anywhere in the world that thinks the Suns are gonna lose this series because of one loss. But there are people are disappointed over any player who keeps getting mins even though he has been downright awful over and over even in wins and all through regular season.

And there are also a few that don’t think needing 37 yr old CP3 to go supernova in 4th QTRs of each game to get a win whether it’s in the 1st round or 2nd round bodes well for future playoff games against other elite teams like GSW or Memphis. Just think it might be asking a tad bit too much out of him and it’s not exactly fair to him.

But hey maybe CP3 can continue to go 14/14 or score 15 pts or have some superhuman 4th qtrs in each of our playoff wins and take the Suns all the time the title doing it. That’s fine with me if he can sustain it and carries us to the promised land :rocking:

In the words of the great Jim Mora "You kiddin me?"

In most wins we can't avoid people freaking out about who starts, gets playing time, why someone is even playing and not the 3rd or 4th stringer instead, what Monty is doing, the refs being biased against us, etc, and some of these things are brought up repeatedly non stop every game.

There are always things that could maybe have been done better or maybe not, and of course the turnovers need to be cleaned up from this last game, but it being a message board, you will have people freaking out about a lot of things, some all the time as it may just be in their nature.

I had to read that post a few times..."how are they in the second round if they are on an 11 game losing streak?" "hmmmm...losing streak to us.." Guess I'm slow today.

Please pound the paint with Ayton and stop relying on outside shots. That will spread the defense and if we start hitting threes then it will be a bonus.

P.S. No more selfish chucking from Payne otherwise pull him out immediately. He should get one play and nothing else.

Thought we would sweep but if our ceiling isn't as high as I thought might as well enjoy this round.

We have elite firepower for the 1st and 4th quarters would like to see some reliable weaponary in between.
