Much deserved. I’m not sure the Suns will be where they are without him. What he’s done to turn this franchise around is remarkable. I’m not sure Devin Booker would have stayed around if it wasn’t for Monty. He will be the reason players sign in Phoenix and keep us competitive for years to come. Congrats Monty!

I like how Book refers to himself telling sources.

No surprises here, well deserved!!!

Monty is a great HC that hopefully will be on this team for the next decade. He is a huge reason for our culture's change and our successful in the last couple of years.

Since the bubble this team didn't look back and looks a perennial contender for years to come with Monty as a leader.

He is under contract for two more years after this one but I would love to extend him ASAP.

I really like Monty as a person. I hope he can coach us out of this series into the next.

I'm hoping he decided to throw the last two games just so there's a trophy presentation at home. wouldn't explain the second loss though.

Well deserved! Should've won it last year but better late than never!

Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, this is a regular season award and Monty was the best coach in the regular season

"I have people that I answer to and they put a lot of trust in me. And when I let them down, it's part of being a competitor. You want to win, and that's the ultimate goal is to win and when you don't, I don't know of any competitor who doesn't look at himself first and try to evaluate so you can be better."

That doesn't even sound like someone who wants to be back. I think even he is ready to be fired. After all he's got a wedding to plan

Ayton is right there and you don’t know any competitor who doesn’t look at himself first and try to evaluate his game. Hmmm I call b.s on that comment Monty.
