Can't see Sarver paying the luxury tax it would keep to bring everyone back

Then might as well fire Monty. This team doesn't buy into his rotations.

Paul scored seven of his 10 points in the fourth quarter and added four assists. He hasn’t looked right the majority of the series and ESPN’s Marc J. Spears reported postgame it has been a left quad injury bothering Paul.

Oh like when Book was hurt in the first round and was out a few games? Why couldn’t Paul do the same? Seriously I am still wondering what the thought process was here.

At this point who gives a **** right? The season is over and Paul can give excuses all he wants.

I'm sure the thought process was "Oh god we can't play Cam Payne for 30+ minutes"

I don't know. I don't know what the alternatives were and if playing someone else would have made us better. Obviously we could start Cam and run Booker pg but we'd still have to use Shamet.

I agree if he could have just missed 2 games though or something he should have sat. Ultimately we don't beat them though if Paul is out. No chance. We needed his 4th qtr heroics in game 2 to win one at home.

This is why Jones picked up Holiday. He tried to get Brooks but honestly that was never going to happen.

Payne better be on the block and CamJo is not worth an extension.

Brooks?

Yeah, the bench really faltered down the stretch. I don't care who stays outside of Bridges and Booker but they must get a point guard who can either split time with or get starter type minutes. We ran CP3 into the ground the last two years. We also need to upgrade the PF position. Jae Crowder is not the answer there. I like cam but wonder why he sucked after the thigh bruise and why he was out like a month for that. Really strange end to the season.

I think they probably wanted to prevent the Mavs from attacking him on defense if they smelled blood in the water but didn't seem to work anyway as they went after him all the same.

He's the softest big in the NBA. Replace him with Richaun Holmes and you wouldn't even notice.

That's a scary thought but getting CP3 right would have been the right call. Brings me back to me whole gripe against JJ. McDonough decided to have no pg and JJ decided he's okay wth no reliable backup pg or sg.

Cam Payne was supposed to be the reliable backup PG, he just went from shooting almost 50/45/90 to shooting almost 40/30/85. Shamet was supposed to be the SG, but he was mediocre at best.

Either way, I’m not playing the CP3 injury game. He was on the floor and looked playable enough to me. Definitely better than any Cam Payne minutes. Teams just figured out that you can throw him off with full court pressure and length at this point in his career. Plus Luka wasn’t shy about hunting him on switches.

I know but we all saw by the deadline that backup pg/sg was an issue. I said it so many times back then that it could come back to bite us in the ass. Especially since how last year ended with the cp3 injuries.

CP3 is done. Even if we make it back to the playoffs, this will just happen again (more likely, we get swept by the higher seeded team).

It's time to blow it up. This team isn't a championship level team and it has no chance of getting there. Keep Bridges, but fire sale everyone else.

For McD it was simple. Either 3 PGs or NO PGs.
