Jae Crowder Won't Participate In Camp As Suns Seek Trade
Jae Crowder and the Phoenix Suns have mutually agreed that he will not participate in training camp as the sides attempt to work on a trade.

Probably a combo guard or possibly a PF or wing.
If Oladipo was eligible for trade now, I could see that happening. With the Bulls guard depth I could also maybe see a trade for Coby White, if the Bulls don't want to pay him and they want a vet PF for a year.

PG: CP3 | Payne |
SG: Booker | Shamet | Lee
SF: Mikal | Craig | Okogie
PF: CamJ | Saric |
C : Ayton | Biyombo| Landale
I think combo guard and big wing are the areas of need.
Upgrading Payne, Shamet and/or Craig should be a priority in a Crowder trade.
I think Shamet+Crowder for Clarkson+Gay is a good trade. Bring in a bought out Kemba.

No way the Suns trade Mikal Bridges for that package.

Bridges far and away the best piece in the trade, and there's nothing else that we would want to make up for shipping him out.

Re: what are Suns looking for in Crowder trade?
We know that we tried to get Bojan Bogdanovic and Vanderbilt from the Jazz for Crowder +, but the Jazz said no.
That makes me think about a similar package when we get a shooter, 6th man scorer (Bogdanovic) and a backup PF who shines at perimeter defense, low usage and rebounding ( Vanderbilt).
So... what about Eric Gordon and Kenyon Martin Jr.?
Kenyon Martin Jr has been already a couple of years in the league, so he can be ready to play backup for Cam Johnson and he would give us a different look at PF.
We have been interested in Eric Gordon recently, we know that he fits as a premier scorer coming from the bench.
I would offer Jae Crowder, Dario Saric and a FRP.

Not a fan of Clarkson. I would prefer a player with higher basketball IQ.

I didn't think they'd take on longer deals with Sarver as owner but with a rich guy as owner (hopefully) I think they might.
They will not really have any avenues to start exceeding the cap and adding to the team unless they start adding salaries so they can retain cap space well over the cap like the Warriors have done. So in that respect trading for a guy like Coby White makes sense.
They will have a hard time retaining so much space over the cap when Paul is gone because despite may thinking that will open up cap space it really won't because with their younger core and Book's supermax they will probably be over anyway, or at least have very little cap space to work with and be stuck at the cap, unless they could deal Paul somewhere and take on deals they could move for other players like GS did by getting Russell back for KD going out, convincing the Nets on a S&T and then later turning him into Wiggins.
Had they kept picks and had rookies and young players, they could always keep them to exceed the cap, but they have not done so. The only other option to retain cap space is send out other players with Crowder to take on a bigger contract...maybe a longer one they could flip later, or let them flip Cam or even Ayton or Bridges later (if Ayton they'd need another C and maybe ball handler back, though I hate taking lesser players back for a very good player. It rarely makes you better.
Are you thinking of a certain proposal for Crowder?

There's no way the Suns trade Mikal to you guys unless Durant or a fully functional Ben Simmons is coming back.
But if you want Crowder I think a trade with us getting back joe Harris might work. We'd have to give you guys Shamet for cap purposes. We need shooting and Harris is a career .436 (!!!!!) shooter from 3. His contract is also only for 2 more yrs so if he sucks or can't stay healthy at least he's gone soon.

Ugh. No Gordon plz. If we're doing that then trade Jae and Shamet to CLV for Karis LaVert. He's a guaranteed bucket off the bench and at least would give us good scoring mins when Book/CP3 aren't feeling it. That's useful since our coach apparently hates Ayton and won't let him shoot the damn ball.
PS: I really want Monty gone if we don't make the Finals. Quinn Synder and Ime Udoka (I know, I know but by next year it'll be fine and I'm sure he learned his lesson)

Crowder, Shamet for Conley
(lets Utah look for a 1st for Crowder)
Paul, Booker, Bridges, Johnson, Ayton
Conley, Lee, Craig, Saric, Biyombo
Not a high conviction idea just thought he'd be a good combination with Paul to allow them both to be at their best after 80 games into the season.
---
The other option would be Thybulle to upgrade our ability to stop MVP calibre players when it matters.

That first bench lineup looks very bad. With Cam J moved to the starting lineup all eggs are now in same basket.
Thybulle is an interesting player if available.
