Offense showing a few new wrinkles. They look pretty good so far.
Bench needs more reps together.
Despite being the first game, I don’t see a go-to player yet. Hopefully Dario will help but we’re going to miss Jae.

Ayton is playing aggressive so lets hope that will be every game but something is off with this team. You can tell by their body language that there is some tension and it looks like Ayton is at the centre of it all. Cp and Booker don't seem to fancy him and they're not even trying to hide it. I'm kind of worried for this season

Torrey Craig is so awful man, what a disaster to bring him back. They need to ship him, Crowder, Shamet and Payne all out immediately throwing in a couple 2nd rd picks just to dump them.
Better players can probably be found in the G league for vet min quite honestly.

I’m not seeing that.
They seem to be getting him very involved.

I’m using them as fillers for a big trade. Currently we have no backup PG outside of Payne.
Shamet I hold onto one more year unless we can get rid of him without giving up assets

Our bench is very good at hitting the back iron from beyond the arc.

Sign Randall. Good lord.

Not sure how Randall would be any worse than Shamet

They can’t miss from 3. Over 50%

I agree but it seems there is some tension. I've played on teams where I didn't like a teammate but when we are on the court we play for the team. Thats the vibe I'm getting from Cp and Book towards D.A

He's clearly better than Shamet just on the premise of him not being reluctant and uncomfortable to shoot! Really wish we had him on our roster. Or at the very least look to add him?

Much easier to shoot when nobody is defending. Suns' defense today was one of the worst I've seen by a professional basketball team. They looked like they just didn't care. Might be a one-off, or might be a sign of the internal issues and the players have checked out.

This game showed badly that we need a good bench player on this roster, someone that could be 6th man of the year.
We need to trade Crowder for someone that is good enough to play 25 mpg for us. Add a FRP if needed.

BTW, Cam Johnson looked bad.

Cam has put on weight, presumably in a bid to be stronger at the 4 spot. I'm not so sure that's the right way to go. He's never really going to be strong enough to battle with true 4s, so I'd much rather him being leaner and running around screens bombing 3s.

Game story is a front-page article on ESPN :-|
It is what it is. If we were going to play like trash in this game, I'd rather take the L and let that stew for the players. Maybe the starters help us come back and win but if our bench can't handle it, there's no reason to give our team any moments of joy.
Yes, some of their 3's were ill-advised, but you have to adjust and pressure them all the way up to prevent those 3's from even being taken.
Monty said it's a learning experience, so we'll see if he's right.
