The Kings with everyone available.
CP3 and Cam Johnson out for the Suns.
Sabonis is a tough matchup for Ayton because he gets people in foul trouble and we need Ayton on the court 30+ minutes.

Should be a very fun game to watch. We’ve always struggled to beat the Kings. I expect a big game from Booker, Mikal, and DA. Let’s go!

as a Californian, I am not supportive of the Kings wasting money and power lighting up the beam so much. let's keep them from using it tomorrow!

Since I'm the Ayton psychic, having called his dominant last two performances....
I think he has a decent, but not great game. He'll be busy with Sabonis who is very physical and a hard worker at 7'1, but Booker and Bridges and Washington and Payne and Craig (who had a terrible game) carve them up from outside.
18/14 for Ayton

Really interested to see how much his game has developed and if he can now adjust accordingly when playing against Sabonis.
Feels like Sabonis, Steven Adams, Gobert and Nurkic are the guys that have put the fear in Adams in the past. Hopefully that’s changed.

Hoping DA continues his dominant run. It's all about effort and focus for me, I care less about the raw numbers

This should be two good battles...Book vs Fox as lead guy and Ayton vs Sabonis. Sabonis out playing Ayton this year and probably on pace to be an all star big which is tough in the west (though maybe not with AD, Jokic and Lauri). It would be nice to see another nice game from Ayton, though I can't be too greedy and expect it put up the types of games he's had in the last 5 games, especially the last two after the b2b, I'm sure Sabonis is up for the challenge especially given he was offensive player of the week.
Then Book vs Fox.
Booker 27/5.8/5.2 with 46/36 splits
Fox with a career year at 25/6.1/4.9 on 53/38.5 splits
Fox over 59% from 2 and Book at 50.6% from 2.
Fox might be a tough cover for Bridges. I imagine he guards him though I guess maybe Payne will.
Then you have for shooting Huerter at 47.3% from 3 and Bridges at 46.9%. Problem there is Huerter shoots 7.3 per game while Bridges shoots 3.4.
That's pretty insane for Huerter on that volume.

Sabonis will likely get his #s, especially given his touches and the offense often running through him. He's a really good rebounder too. So this will be more of a challenge rebounding for him. I won't expect the offensive rebounds he's been getting, though on one consistently gets a lot with only Adams and Capela averaging more than 4 per game.
Of course pts come down to shots, so hopefully they keep feeding him more like they have given how much he has scored. I don't expect him to get as many shots as last game since that's rare but if he could get close to 15 shots that would be nice.
Book doesn't need to shoot 27 like last game either. That's way too many. Luckily he got to the line quite a bit to hit 10 free throws since he only made 8 of those shots and ended with 27 points. He should look to get other guys going which may result in less defensive focus on him so he can avoid another sub 30% shooting performance.

That opening post needs to be updated seeing two of the players listed in McGee and Holiday aren't with us any longer.

Great test for Ayton tonight. Another big (Sabonis) who loves to get big rebounding numbers, and Sabonis has also improved his defense within the last year or so it's crucial not to underestimate him on that front.

Book is still shooting pretty well, 57% TS which is on par for his career average. Averaging 6 assists a game as well which is well above his career average and 3rd highest of his career. But I do agree, 27 attempts is too many. ~20 is ideal unless he’s just absolutely on fire or something which he wasn’t in the last one.
Hope Ayton/Biyombo/Landale can stay out of foul trouble and refs don’t call soft ones either.

I'll be surprised if Ayton out rebounds him. Sabonis has become a good rebounder his last few years. He's a very smart player which is why he can probably bait Ayton into fouls. After starting the season in foul trouble his first 4 games or so, Ayton has done better not getting into foul trouble while still playing aggressive. He was probably overagressive early in the season prior to injury resulting in too many fouls too quickly, then it forces him to play more tentatively later.
Book's TS% is about league avg, and is his worst since his 3rd year ,but he started the season on fire so since then it's probably a bit below that. His 3 pt game has suffered a lot too, especially in the last 8 games or so...I think he had like 2 good ones, and like 1 in the last 4 or 5.
But the positive thing is he's getting to the line a lot more, so he needs to continue wiith that and maybe scale back on the shots a little.
I don't know if they have anyone who can guard him, but I think they did beat Brooklyn and GS pretty badly and obviously those teams have a guy that is hard to guard.
It's kind of weird looking at Book's TS% by year...it got a lot better when Ayton and Bridges showed up, and went up significantly for 2 years straight and since Paul got here, it has dropped every year. Strange.
I understand it getting better with Ayton and Bridges giving us more talent and opposing defensive attention but not the drops with Paul.

Book is due for a good shooting night. Feels like it's been a while even though he's had some high scoring numbers.

What I couldn't give for Kevin Calabro. Man, I miss that guy calling Kemp/Payton era Sonics games. He'd be fun for us, especially on the break.

Booker is terrible early in this one. He must still be hungover from thanksgiving like he tweeted out then deleted.
Ayton is balling though.
