he seems like a more refined version of jock, but not as big. hopefully his 3 point shot makes it to phoenix intact.

I see a lot of similarities in his game to Jakob Poeltl’s. Eubanks plays with physicality, dunks in traffic, blocks shots, very active. Where he struggled in Portland was when they looked at him to score, that’s not his game. He will do great with the fire power around him. He will be a fan favorite very quickly.
He spends his off-season in Arizona. Best signing today imo.

He should be a good pick up for us. He’ll do well as a drop big in Vogel’s defense. Pretty similar player to Jock, just a bit more athletic and better on defense. Not really a 3 point shooter, but neither was Jock last year.

In Drew Eubanks, the Suns are getting a strong interior defender who slotted into the Portland starting lineup often over the past season and a half.
Just check out these rim protection numbers, courtesy of Bball-Index.

Regarding his shot blocking - it's weak side stuff and not the face up variety. However, I don't think there's a guy on the roster who excels at that except maybe KD.
I think it would be interesting if they ever need to go bigger - they could play him next to DA at the 4 to really take advantage of that weak side help stuff along with Durant.

Looks like Landale upgrade indeed and plays similar to DA so not much change in the schemes when one substitutes for the other.

Most definite. His footwork and timing is really impeccable. Helps he is bouncy and gets up in the air quickly. Not super high but really quick.

Hopefully all these wingspans lead to good defense.

Vogel said he wants to be aggressive around the perimeter so hopefully Eubanks can cover the paint with his leap.

I was more impressed with his passing in traffic to the cutters.
The thing that surprised me most in preseason with him was the edge he plays with. He stops short of doing anything that gets called but he gets pretty physical with any opponent that gets in his space or tries to impede his path.

Depending on matchups, I wonder if we ever see a big lineup of Beal, Book, KD, Eubanks, and Nurk.

Only way that happens is if the other team runs a twin tower lineup where neither guys have much range on their shots.
