Not expecting anything other than 3rd string BUT speaking potential wise, there's always a chance to get a late bloomer at 26 yo. Fits the physical profile of the guys we were targeting and can play a bit of quick footed small ball C which is nice.

The suns have needed more athleticism for years and he certainly checks that box.

Interesting player. Nice block on Giannis in one of the highlights. Has size, athleticism, but also good ball handling skills. Apparently likes to shoot 3s, but needs a lot of work there.

It's interesting that Metu and Eubanks have already played together for the Austin Spurs of the G-League.

Metu played more PF then and he has played more minutes at that position in recent years for the Kings too.

Metu at 6'9 can play both frontcourt positions but his lack of scoring ability, handles and passing is making him more of a C nowadays. He is an strong shot-blocker although he is not as good as Biyombo.

Wouldn't have just minded a bigger body like Boban in case Ayton gets in foul trouble like 2021.

Hope he can surprise when we need an emergency body.

Yeah, but Boban can't play regular minutes because of his lack of mobility and agility and he is old (35 in August) so it's getting worse.

Metu is 6' 8.5'' barefoot with a 7'0.5" wingspan and 9'00" standing reach with an strong and athletic body. That's enough size to play C.

I'd 100% bring back Biz if we can. Great leader, plays hard, knows his role and knows the Suns

Great interview. Seemed really well spoken and the right attitude - not promised anything and wants to work. Hopefully he cracks the rotation with that athleticism and range

He is now the first big coming from the bench and he is ahead of Watanabe, Bates-Diop and Eubanks in the rotation.

For what I have seen Vogel wants to use him as a backup for both frontcourt positions but primary as a C. He has shown nice chemistry on the court with KD as a ball handler in the P&R.

Stats for the last 5 games:

11.2 points and 7.8 rebounds playing 22 minutes per game. 5/13 from threes.

In all these last 5 games he has never played less than 16 minutes.

Vogel seems to just be giving guys turns. First was Bates, then Yuta, then Little and now Metu and moving into Bol maybe.

He seems to be the most offensively versatile. Yuta is a shooter only, KBD is a jack of all trades and master of none and Eubanks is an energy big who is so-so defensively and has no range at all.

Mezi is a good fit offensively because he attacks close outs, he isn't afraid to shoot the 3 ball, isn't afraid to get up and yam it on defenders and while I think his defense is kinda lacklustre, he's an overall net positive. KBD really should've been the guy given he's able to do so much and fill so many gaps but he's really tentative and indecisive.
