Guess who’s back? Back again
Ayton’s back
Tell a friend
He calls himself DomiAyton
But that’s just not creative
He’s all talk… like a duck
Good luck against the Suns
You gonna need it…
And if we beat you
Don’t deceive it

Spoiler:
I tried to rhyme be gentle. :)

Didn't get too excited for the Denver game, aside from seeing what the bench guys can do in extended minutes but this has game has off the chart SPICE written all over it. I think there's a good chance DA is only going to play minimal minutes, mainly because it's preseason but also to protect him. Not saying there's necessarily bad blood between us and DA but I could just see our guys going specifically at him just to prove a point. The Suns know he's the enemy now, the Blazers know that and Nurk isn't going to take any prisoners down in the paint.

Nurk is a superb provocateur. His ability to needle the opposition into responding out of proportion to his provocations is rare these days.

Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are all set to play tomorrow after sitting out yesterday's preseason game, per Frank Vogel.

Sat out mainly to prepare against Ayton tonight. It’s brilliant what a plot twist. I never saw it coming from a mile away.

Nice to have a some drama and passion even if its only for the first quarter of a preseason game. That's why I watch.

Let's see how Camara does as well. He looked really good in summer league and had himself a nice game for the Blazers a few days ago.

Still wish we could have kept him btw. I just really liked what I saw from him in summer league and his physical profile + skill set just makes sense.

I kind of expect boos for Ayton, but hopefully fans keep it classy and give him some cheers.

Game is in Portland. So I’d imagine there will be lots of boos, especially the longer he stays in the game.

More seriously, we play the blazers in Phoenix on Monday. I’ll be at the game. Personally, I will have zero reaction toward him. I love booing players we all hate (Alvarado, Pat Bev, LeBron, etc.) but I don’t think Ayton deserves boos. Nor do I really feel like cheering for him. So silence is my response lol

Oh, I didn't even pay attention. I think Ayton will struggle a bit scoring at the efficiency he did for awhile, given he has played with two of the best passers out there in CP3 and Rubio for his whole career except as a rookie. He hasn't really been asked to create himself within our .5 offense, and is with a rookie PG and young guy and all new players. They will expect him to create more which he hasn't done much of since his rookie year and in college, so will have to do and work more on that, and also it will likely take some time for him to get some chemistry with all new teammates, as we saw his struggles when our roster overturned a lot and when Paul/Payne were out.

I am sure Book and others will really try and strip him a lot. But yeah, on Monday, then, I expect boos, given how toxic the fanbase hs become, particularly towards him.

There will be handful of boo’s for Ayton back in Phoenix. Mainly because of his empty promises and getting wrecked against Jokic in playoffs.

There was some sort of weird non-sensical explanation of why Camara was included when the trade happened (from Gambo I think?) that we traded him so we could keep Goodwin. But it didn't seem to be implying that was because the Blazers wanted either Camara or Goodwin, it seemed to be some sort of salary/roster spot deal. Which doesn't really make sense to me, we wouldn't have had to choose only between those two to keep players. It sounded like spin to me to try and justify why we had to include him. I think the real explanation is the Blazers just won the trade value-wise and we didn't want to admit that (which I get it, why would they).

Even the explanation for getting Allen was telling. We only knew we were getting Nurkic and Little back (and it doesn't seem like we value Little very much so far), didn't even know who the third player would be. Could've been some benchwarmer for all we knew and we were still going to do it anyways . Think it's pretty obvious the trade was more about dumping Ayton than anything else. Regardless it could work out well for us. If Nurkic stays healthy I really think he could make the O better overall, but he'll need to show he won't get played off the floor on D. Allen seems like a really great acquisition so far. Little seems like just a guy though....I'd rather have Camara than him at this point. But not enough games or PT to see what he's about yet.

I recall something like that too but Im fairly sure we couldnt trade any of the guys we just signed. I believe those guys can only be traded in December. Even Lee had just signed a new contract. It was probably only Goodwin and Camara that could possibly be traded and they have similar contract sizes. We only had Booker and Durant from last year on the same deals, and Okogie was a new deal. Everyone else was on new deals so they all can only be traded in December. But if it was possible we really should have given up Saben Lee.

Allen looks like a lucky get. But that could be the difference this year for us. Sounded like Little was the guy Jones really wanted and Nurkic was an deemed an acceptable replacement.

The simplest explanation is that Blazers wanted Camara and we weren't gonna let the 52nd pick of the draft be the dealbreaker.

To your point about not knowing about Allen, we did actually know because we worked it out. There were enough information/hints to work out it was either Allen or Oladipo and the understanding was that because we knew the deal didn't include OKC, it was going to be Allen.

Good point on the can't-trade-guys-you-just-signed, totally forgot about that. Guess the NBA GMs do in fact know better than some guy posting on the internet :D

Ayton should be cheered. He was part of a great team. It didn’t work out and most of us are hugely disappointed, But boos would be a **** thing to do.

Hope it doesn’t happen.
