Mason Plumlee signs a 1 year deal with the Suns.
He is 34 years old and he averaged 5.3 points and 5.1 rebounds for the Clippers. 15 mpg.
He doesn't have the same athletic ability due to his age but he is a good athlete for a C yet. He is a lob/put back threat and he has improved his FT shooting...71% last year.
I like the signing and he is an obvious upgrade over Eubanks IMO. Plumlee is bigger, a better passer and has a higher basketball IQ.

An upgrade over Eubanks and we didn't lose a pick for him so a good signing.

Signing Monte Morris makes even more sense now. Played together for 3 years at Denver, and used to post excellent net ratings as part of their bench.

He's not the same athlete he used to be but a perfect backup C for us.

Pretty solid pick up. Tough to do much better on the minimum market

Clippers fans on Twitter saying we're in for a rude shock. He has really declined apparently

Yet Eubanks got more money than him?

Almost anything relatively decent at all at the minimum is about as much as you can really expect.

I've always liked Plumlee but the age/recent injury history does concern me. Still, hard to do much better on a vet min. At the very least he's Eubanks but bigger + better passer + better positional defender.

He is having a tough time finishing in traffic (and sometimes without traffic lol) BUT I like his passing ability, effort and rebounding.
For the minimum I think he is doing a nice job. In the last 3 games 10, 10 and 12 rebounds.

I'm beyond done with Nurk.
He does way too much out there, overthinks it, and then overthinks NOT overthinking it. He's averaging 2.3 turnovers a game, which is kind of insane, basically DOUBLE of every other similar-role center out there.

Is it better than Nurk? All that really matters is that he is better than Nurk

Last year when we had a massive gap in playmaking talent, his playmaking talent made sense in closing that gap. 4 assists on 2.3 TO's is solid for a C. Sengun this season is averaged 5ast to 2.5 TO's. This season, we have the playmaking, we don't need Nurk trying to do this and that. If Nurk just did Plumlee things, I'd be OK but between his poor 3PT shooting (still), poor finishing and now the turnovers without the benefit of good assist numbers, he's basically useless out there.

Mason Plumlee has averaged 11.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the last five games.
He has been playing better lately. He looks in great shape and is really helping on the boards and moving the ball faster on offense.
