Ugh, I guess I'm fine helping the Lakers this one other time (Nash to Lakers was the 1st).
Nurkic for Rui.
Nurkic for Rui.

That'd be pretty solid! Are the lakes able to do this trade though? Can't remember if they're also a 2nd apron team like us after their trades.

LA would have to send a vet minimum via the minimum exception to make it work
Trying out this Substack thing. Suns and NBA thoughts. Check it out: https://hoopsnexus.substack.com/

Re: 2024-25 Season Discussion and Speculation Part III
Two trades that work
1) Phoenix receives:
P.J. Tucker
Bones Hyland
LA Clippers receive:
Jusuf Nurkic
2027 least favorable first of Cleveland, Minnesota, Utah
2) Phoenix receives:
Gary Harris
Cory Joseph
2025 first from Denver (if 6-30)
Orlando receives:
Grayson Allen
Monte Morris
These two separate trades would get Phoenix below both aprons next season and give the Suns two first-round picks in this year's draft. The trade saves the Suns more than $200 million in salary and luxury tax penalties next season.

I know these won't happen but crazy how quick we could get out of the 2nd apron.
I'd hate to lose Allen for just cap space and a late round pick but could be worth considering.
Could then just pair the 2 firsts to move up in the draft a bit, or trade one of them for a future first or multiple 2nds.
One trade that works
Phoenix receives:
Cole Anthony
2025 first (from Denver; if 6-30)
2027 second (via Boston)
Orlando receives:
Grayson Allen
This one I'd prefer more.

Q: Are the Suns a true contender ?
AI: Right now, I don't see the Phoenix Suns as a true championship contender. While they have elite talent in Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, their inconsistency, injury concerns, and lack of depth make them vulnerable against teams like the Nuggets, Celtics, or even the Thunder. They can win a playoff series or two, but I wouldn’t bet on them making the Finals unless something drastically changes.
Good when NI and AI are in agreement.

Yeah, I no longer see Avdija as a viable trade target. He just dropped 30 points against the Bucks and the Blazers have currently won 5 of their last 6 games. I don't think Thybulle is much of a difference maker at this point in his career either.
Robert Williams would be a nice addition, more than Duop Reath. Patrick Williams I would take as a last resort, but Suns would have to be getting a pick swap in their favor in order to take back his lengthy contract. Larry Nance Jr is seemingly always injured, otherwise I wouldn't mind him as a backup. Cody Martin would be a solid rotational player off the bench, but I think we need another viable big. I don't even know who Sandro is and I can't pronounce his last name.

Nurk for Rui would be about as good as the Suns can probably get for Nurkic
Suns could get Bronny James as the minimum player added
