Collin Gillespie

Read on Twitter

Kevin Durant on Collin Gillespie: "I always love how Collin is poised and he’s a dog. He cares. He was one of the loudest in the locker room after last game, and he ain’t even contribute a minute to that disaster. And he came out and was pissed off after the game last game."

To convert Gillespie’s two-way contract into a standard NBA contract, we must have an open roster spot on their 15-man standard roster.

We can waive Monte Morris...or other out of the rotation player...IDK...but we MUST sign Gillespie.

Then we can offer to Gillespie a minimum contract (1+1 years), with the second year as a team option or non-guaranteed for 2025/26.

That type of contract is available for sure but IDK if we can offer him more money and/or years using some exception or other type of deal.

I admit that I have watched like only 10 games this season (it's not like he played anyway), but I remember seeing him in pre-season and I liked what I saw. Seems like a levelheaded PG that can do a little bit of everything. Next year we probably suck, so I think it would be a good idea to convert him to a normal deal and try him out as backup PG.

Was a huge fan of his signing when it was first announced and would love to seem him stick around. I think we should let Monte Morris go to create that extra spot to sign Gillespie to a full contract. I like Monte but I think he's deserving to go to a team that will give him minutes. Logically, I would cut DLee because he's just not that talented but he seems like a good vibes guy so happy to keep him around and I doubt anyone is picking him up if he got cut unlike Monte is potentially will get a shot.

Turned the game on at the end of the 3rd (& almost immediately turned it back off ha). Gillespie had a few moments where he drove into the lane to probe that gave me Nash flashbacks. I think even the tv analysts mentioned it at one point.

Went to look up some classic Nash highlights and I don't recall at the time thinking he looked unathletic, just looked average. But now, he absolutely looks like one of the most unathletic players I've ever seen. I'm just thinking, how does he guy by anyone?

Is Gil eligible for the playoffs, if the Suns happened to make it there? He's a two-way contract, but I'm unsure if there was a deadline where you have to convert your two-way players.

Players on two-way contracts CAN'T play in the playoffs.

It's a must to give him a multiyear standard contract. He needs to be Sun next year.
