I like how he plays. No dribbling the air out of the ball, all of his scoring come from either catch and shooting, finishing on cuts, fast breaks or simple drives

Loved Nigel in college. Seems like a good dude.
You need some good vibes, hard workers around even if they aren't playing. Nigel can definitely be that but who knows maybe more.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Two time euro league First Team selection, two-way player, unselfish team player who is reportedly a hard worker. Worth taking a flyer on, wouldn't be the first guy to return to the NBA at around age 30 and have success in the NBA.

I'll take that assessment as the honest one I know you to deliver.

This season's Yabusele?

Neither was EL MVP. Nigel Hayes Davis won F4 MVP after his team won EL title in '25.

All I know he's 2-way player, but wouldn't put too much hope he becomes a rotation player.

My bad, that should be Two time euro league MVP First Team selection.

A few more cold hard facts I came across after doing a deep dive on Hayes Davis:
- Amateur greco Roman wrestler, a sport which doesn't require lubrication oils, but Nigel brings them anyway.
- Has a pet frog named Leroy Buttons, named after the villainous character in the movie Mona Lisa Smile.
- Once won third place in a Matthew Perry look alike contest, due to his close physical resemblance to the' Friends' star.
- An avid Scrabble player, who reportedly has developed a reputation as a tile peaker (something heavily frowned upon in the Scrabble community).

No difference with NBA really. Regular season and F4(finals) MVP. Then there is 1st team selection like All NBA first team.
Micic and Vezenkov were regular season MVPs and didn't do much in NBA. They are offense only players though and not athletic though still better players in FIBA setting. Nigel may fit better in NBA style of play, but he's not as athletic or strong as Yabusele so not sure how well he'll transition.

This gem is on his Wikipedia:
Hayes-Davis has a very well-known cat in the basketball community, and the name of this cat is Sly, which Hayes-Davis sees as his grey shadow.[28]

They've also got round MVP and there are 34 rounds in the regular season so there's 34 round MVPs. Next season the EL is expanding to 20 teams so there will be 38 round MVPs. They are probably more like player of the week type but the fact that they call it MVP is what is confusing.

Yes, round MVP is given to a player who's team won and the player had highest PIR(box score based stat like PER). Ultimately the regular season MVP is given by players, fans and media votes.

Re: Welcome Nigel Hayes Davis
We were interested already in Nigel Hayes in the last offseason. I remember posting about it, but we couldn't sign him.
I think he can be in our 10-man rotation since day 1. Too good on intangibles and defense to be a DNP and he can help us spreading the floor at the 3/4 position.
This is an smart signing because it's a win-win. Nigel Hayes gets the opportunity to play in the NBA again and we get a player of his caliber for the minimum. IMO he is better than Yabusele and look at how good he was last year for the Sixers.

If Boston was interested, that's a good sign we picked up the right kinda player
Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla was spotted at a basketball game in Turkey, reportedly scouting a EuroLeague player.
On Monday, Mazzulla was spotted at the Turkish League Finals watching forward Nigel Hayes-Davis play for Fenerbahce.
EuroHoops reported that Mazzulla was in fact looking at Hayes-Davis' game, though this is not the first time that Boston has been interested in the forward.
Hayes-Davis worked out for the Celtics in the lead-up to the 2016 NBA Draft. Despite working out for other teams, he decided to return to Wisconsin for his senior year of college basketball.
He ended up going undrafted in 2017 and started with the New York Knicks G-League team.
The Wisconsin product ended up playing a total of nine NBA in his short career with the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, and Sacramento Kings.
After failing to get another opportunity in the league, he made the move overseas and has had a good amount of success.
Hayes-Davis averaged 16.7 points per game this season while shooting 41% from 3-point range in 39 EuroLeague games. His production netted him a spot on the All-EuroLeague First Team.
“There is very serious interest from the NBA for Nigel Hayes-Davis and Tarik Biberovic,” Yannier said, according to a translation from Sportando of an interview with TRT Sports Star.
“I hope they continue with us, but if they say, ‘I want to try in the NBA,’ we won’t stand in their way.”
This is not the first time that the Celtics have been linked to Hayes-Davis; there were rumors back in 2021 of interest, but a move never materialized.
Given the Celtics are limited with resources, Hayes-Davis could represent an affordable role player that could provide depth to a roster that should look very different come next season.
Boston could face competition for his services, however, since every team in the league could use a rotational wing player who can shoot the ball well, but prior links could help get the deal over the line for the Celtics.

Between Fleming and now Hayes Davis, our scouting approach seem to be to monitor whatever Boston is doing and then snatch away the guys they're looking at

Sam Vecenie:
This is a good signing. Think Hayes is a good bet to be a useful rotation player. Has gotten much better in Europe than the last time NBA fans saw him in the USA.
