Good opinions about him in all Sixers forums. Younger, taller than Tyus Jones and better numbers with the Sixers than him last season:

He and Gillespie will compete for 2nd string. I don't think Goodwin is better than these two. But "Our next starting guard".... is wrong.

Keith Smith:
Jared Butler's contract with the Phoenix Suns is a non-guaranteed training camp deal, a league source told @spotrac.

I remember people hyping up Tyus for years and then he got here and stinked.
At least this guy has no hype around him, it's better like that. So the disappointment wouldn't be massive.

I still like Tyus Jones. I blame the situation, and having KD, Beal, Booker + the coaching.

I think Tyus in today's NBA really should be a 2nd stringer. He's really good at what he does and I agree we under-utilised his skillset but at the same time, I also think we over-utilised him by forcing him to start which really hurt our team defense as the key weak link in the back court. At the end of the day, he isn't a dominant PG who orchestrates a high powered offense. He's more of a steady hand that you can bring off the bench and have confidence the offense isn't going to drop off dramatically when the starting PG takes his rest.
