Suns forward Grant Hill's best run of good health in years took a surprise interruption today when it was learned he would need to undergo an appendectomy this evening.

This could be a blessing from the sky. We may lose a couple pf games more but he gets to rest his ankles for about 2 weeks. You see why you need to play the bench Mike!! You never know when this may happen, what if it happens in the playoffs with somebody else, I hope not!
Mike please play the bench and don't go with a 7man rotation.

NF33IH, if I were to sneak into the hospital that's doing the procedure, how much would Grant Hill's appendix be worth to you?

Bad news ... seems like he had a lot of niggling injuries lately and was getting up gingerly every time he hit the deck lately. Hopefully it was this issue and he'll come back nice and healthy.

I sure hope so. But knowing Mike, you just have to expect this to come...re: Hill, this might be a blessing in disguise to give Hill days off, get Boris back in the groove, and also increase PT for Banks and Skinner.
Use the bench Mike, there's a reason you carry 12 men.

Yea Hill looked pretty banged up with all the falls he's been taking and let's hope he gets the rest he needs...
haha WTF your right I beat Never Fear is licking his lips at the thought of purchasing his appendix.
I hope he's ready for the SA game

I guess barbosa is going to start at SG and Raja will play the SF !

Skinner should play more center, moving Amare to PF (which he should be anyways) Shawn to SF, and increase Boris's minutes. We'll lose a couple games, but all we should care about is health + chemistry going into the post-season. I am worried about Raja taking up the slack...

I think this is great for Hill (rest wise). Get his legs back, a nice two week break for the 2nd half...just play the bench, and I'm cool.

Ya so long as Dantoni plays the bench more and doesn't try to throw Hill's minutes on just Bell/Diaw, thing should be good.
Give me bench, or give me death!
Get well soon Hill!

I hope he gets well and comes back 100%.
This is good that the bench guys get a chance, I hope.
Winning the games are not as important as the bench guys getting a shot to prove themselves.

More minutes for Skinner, Tucker and Banks? I sure hope so.

Rest...I hardly call having surgery rest. No matter how minor it may be. Let's all just hope for the best.

I say start Boris and let him sink or swim, with Tucker and Banks doing the backup.

This isn't too bad...our run of games over the next two weeks are mostly games against poor teams (except Utah and LA) , which we should be able to beat without Hill. It could have happened at a worse time.

Too bad. He was playing great for us. Not to worried about him missing the next 2-3 weeks though. Boris needs to step up (like we haven't said this before) and maybe this will also open up some more minutes for Banks to test him out more. If he keeps shooting well and playing that scrappy defense he will be a real asset down the road when we play the Spurs, Hornets, and Mavs, using him to guard their quick PGs.
Get well soon Grant.

Don't appendectomies usually take ~a month to come back from? 2 weeks seems way too early. Oh well. Perfect opportunity to start Skinner and put a real lineup out there for the first time in four years, but we know that will never happen.
