Birdman??

Post#1 » by pidi » Sun Jan 27, 2008 5:57 pm

Chris Andersen, formerly of the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, was dismissed from the NBA in 2006 for violating the league's drug policy. Under the terms of the policy, Andersen lost his contract (he was into the first year of the $13 million deal) and could not apply for reinstatement for two years. Monday, a day after the two-year anniversary of his dismissal, the papers for his reinstatement will be delivered to both the NBA and the NBA Players Association. And Andersen, who is still only 29, will then wait to see what his fate will be according to a report in the Boston Globe.

He completed a rehabilitation program in Malibu, Calif., and has said he hasn't had a drink or taken drugs since the suspension.

Andersen was the first player to be suspended under the drug program since Stanley Roberts in 1999 and is the first to file for reinstatement since Roy Tarpley, who was banned in 1995. Tarpley's request was denied, so Andersen could be the first to be suspended and then return and contribute.

if we could sign damon we also should sign bridman, he can run, is big, can jump, is on drugs ( deserves a second chance ), what you think bout this fella???

A lot of us want him here, but realistically, he doesn't fit the clean cut 'nice' guy that the Suns seem to covet

If NOR add him to what they already have then WOW they'll be even bigger and better

he will go to the hornets - they have right of first refusal for him and they wont pass that up with the lack of depth that they have

I wouldn't mind seeing him here. I don't know all of the backstory as far as how many chances he has had but if the guy really is clean then he deserves another chance. On the court his game is exactly what we need right now. He was a big athletic body who could run and jump with the best of them.

I wouldn't hold my breath but Kerr has said that it sometimes helps to have 1 guy in your locker room who brings a little "attitude" to the team.

He still lives in Parker, CO (I used to live there). He would play pick up with us from time to time....I don't think we want him.
