Kerr inquired about Camby

Kerr recently was considering a major move -- a league source says the Suns were asking around about the Nuggets' Marcus Camby -- but D'Antoni told him to hold off.

"We have one of the best records in the league, so why would we want to change anything?" says D'Antoni, calling the Suns "an unbelievable offensive team that's trying to get better on defense.

"I know we haven't quite hit our stride, but we're real close to being there."

I'd have parted with Marion+Banks+Tucker+ATL to get Camby+Najera+Hunter...

But why would Denver do that? I'd love Camby on this team too, but there's no way that they'll take Marion and filler for him.

Marion's expiring (may as well be), frees up space to make a move at Brand or JO...

if mean that they could go outright and sign Brand or JO, then i LOL.

Iverson/Melo/Martin/Nene alone put the team WAY over the cap.

the ONLY thing this team has the ability to do is S&T for those guys.

Camby would be great here would give us a great defender and we would quit being killed on the boards.

I'm not sure Stern would let it happen, just because it really wouldn't be fair to the rest of the NBA :-)

I was more interesting in this part of the article ...

"If we were to dominate teams in the regular season and then lose to them in the playoffs, I'm with you," he says. "We would have to change up. But that hasn't been the case."

Funny how perception is not always reality.

'06-07 Opponent Season Playoffs
Lakers W, 3-1 W, 4-1
Spurs L, 2-1 L, 4-2
'05-06
Lakers W, 3-1 W, 4-3
Clippers T, 2-2 W, 4-3
Mavericks T, 2-2 L, 4-2
'04-05
Grizzlies T, 2-2 W, 4-0
Mavericks W, 2-1 W, 4-2
Spurs L, 2-1 L, 4-1

Wow, so we play the Lakers one more time don't we? (hope we win that one!).

Camby would help us TREMENDOUSLY, but with Nene out indefinitely, I just don't see how they want to trade Camby. Even with Nene there, I still don't think Denver would even consider swaping Camby for another SF in Marion. Camby is the reason why the Denver team can play some defense.

Why would Kerr listen to Mike anyway? Regardless, I'm not buying into the hype. It says Kerr was inquiring about Camby, it doesn't say what he would have to give up to get him or that it was even considered by Denver.

Matrix and Melo?

With Nene in the middle?

I dunno how that would work, Melo would be a decent PF in the offense side as he can post as good as anyone, defense wise I dunno.

I doubt very seriously Marion was in the consideration. Kerr was just feeling them out.

i have no doubt this could have been as little as a discussion between kerr and dantoni and nothing more

the nuggets wouldnt do it, and the reporter is just being an a$$ trying to make stories for himself

^^ Most likely it has to do with the Nuggets in search of a PG (Kerr thinking Banks).
