The guy is a warrior
One of the greatest Suns of all time
Left his heart on the floor every night

Sure he has whined a bit in the last few years and some of his playoff peforamcnes against the Spurs may be critcised but Shawn was a warrior for this franchise since he was drafted

THE MATRIX :(

I'm not sure he is going anywhere...yet. Shaq still has to pass a physical.

Suns would miss his defense, steals and 3's.

trixx is the #2 sun of all time in my book with KJ being my numero uno. tremendous player and person, if all pros gave the effort shawn does every night, the nba would be a better league.

thanks for always saying hi to my daughter in her Shawn jersey when you came to seattle Trixx. Thanks for all you did as a Sun. i'll still watch and root for you until the day you retire.

Shawn Marion is one of my favorite Suns ever. Although I feel it is the right time to move on especially after what had happened last offseason, but he deserves everything. The guy has been a stud for A LONG time and deserves our respect.

Don't even know what to say. He's been one of the greatest Suns of all time. I just can't imagine Shawn in anything other than purple and orange. I honestly don't know what to say...

Between Marion getting traded from the Suns and Andruw Jones leaving the Braves...it's been a rough two months for me.

You can't beat those dunks of his. The way he cocks his hand back for the slam. The crazy shot he has. His rebounding, stealing and hustle.

Good luck Shawn. I wish you only the best! Have a great career!

No kidding - Shawn is one of the greats. Too bad there was bad blood, whatever it was, at the end.
Maybe they were telling the truth when they said none of the core guys were going o be traded, maybe Miami came to them and they had to listen. Maybe it was all BS in the first place.

It does move Banks, opens up (some) room for DJ and Lando, and we have what should be a nice pick coming from Atlanta.

Whatever, I hope Miami is great for him.

Still can't believe he is gone, even though there were rumors every season didn't think it would become a reality.

Man this sucks. Marion is probably my favourite Suns player not named Grant Hill. I was just saying to SDU the other day that I want to buy a Marion top but was not sure to, due to the fact he may leave after this season.

I always thought all the trade rumours were bogus and that at the end of the day he would re-sign with the Suns.

Best of luck in Miami. I will root for you but not for that fraanchise.

Do us a favour, if Miami is not your destination of choice and you really wanna stay in Phoenix then please go and kick Shaq in the hip.

We will see you in a few years when you are placed into the ring of honor.

Shawn is far and away my favourite player on the NBA. The day he wears anything other than the purple and orange, will be a very sad one.

nice finally marion gets traded
but i have to admit that i was shocked..if shaq can stay healthy we have a better chance with Shaq rather with Shawn in the PO.
Marion sucks during the PO and we get our inside and defense presence.
Marion would have opt out after this year so we wouldn't get anything for him.
With this trade we can dump Bank's contract, too.
And we take a risk with Shaq seeing if he can stay healthy and valuable and first and foremost if he can play in our system.
Shaq cannot run but maybe he can play a similar role like Kurt and demand more attention on the offensive end.
Having the best PG in the league, Nash will definitely find some nice looks for Shaq on the offensive end.
Amare-Shaq!!! Wow that's a big frontline...Amare will block even more shots now, having the chance coming from the weak side.
The chemistry level will rise...
The more and more i think of this trade , i like it more.
Cannot wait for the playoffs.
I was anxious playing the Lakers and Spurs with our lineup but now i think we'll have a good chance beating them!
GO SUNS!!!

THX FOR MARION, HE DID A LOT FOR THIS TEAM, PLAYED PROFESSIONALLY THIS YEAR, TOO!BEST LUCK BUT WE HAVE TO MOVE ON

I don't know what to say. I love Shawn with all my heart. I changed my Facebook picture to a picture of me wearing his jersey. He was by far my favorite Suns player of all time. We won't see a player that brings what he brings to the table on this team in a long time. The defensive versatility, the explosiveness, the chemistry (I don't care what anyone says, Shawn was the glue), the production.

I'm insanely sad. People have been calling me insane and a drama queen for being so upset. What else can I do when my favorite player on my favorite team gets traded, especially for freakin' Shaquille O'Neal?

Thanks Shawn, you were the best. You deserved better. You deserved better from the front office, and you deserved better from a lot of fans who dogged you for a couple off series. They didn't realize all you do for the team on the court and off. They didn't realize how hard your job was made to be. I don't blame you one bit for wanting to leave, but just know that there are a ton of us Suns fans who appreciate each and every drip of sweat, ounce of energy, and drop of blood that you poured into this team each and every night on the court.

Thank you. Thank you for making our team what it was. Thank you for Suns basketball.

Dear Shawnie,

Thanks for not publicly whining this year, especially after nixing a trade, then demanding one afterwards.

We appreciate all that you have done, and fully realize your desire to leave as it was imminent you would be departing soon anyway.

Understanding that with you, our chances for a championship seem to be stagnant, our management needed to do at least something that resembled an attempt to improve. Whether or not this pays off yet needs to be seen.

Please keep in mind, that you will no longer be the most underrated unknown player in the league, and that you will not be the 'main guy'. At least you will be second fiddle in a tropical paradise. I hope you enjoy Florida.

Sincerely,

Franklin Lee

PS...thank you for taking Marcus Banks with you. Atleast now, our coach will no longer be reminded of his bozo-ish attempt as a GM. Lets just hope he is not passing the red rubber nose on to Kerr.
What ? Me Worry ?
