Shaq's now a Sun, but still could be out as long as 2 more weeks before playing his first game as a Sun!

Hope he could play before the 20th. Although the Lakers won't have Bynum yet, I would still love to see him as a Sun going against his former-former team.

*UPDATE on pg. 2*

We'll see. I hope they take it easy on him

They need to hold him out until after the all-star break. That would be ideal. Then he needs to get his ass on the treadmill in the meantime and get back into a little shape.

We acquired him at a good time with our cushy Feb. home games schedule.

Exactly... Let's give him time to be fully healed up and ready for some bruising down low.

as a knick fan on the outside looking in..I say it was a good trade.I'm sure shaq can still be productive and give you that inside presence needed for your team. Best bet is to rest him up for the playoff and go from there

you know it's bad when a knicks fan says it was a good trade. j/k

joking aside, I think it's a good move for you guys.

Congrats Sun fans this kicks our rivalry with you guys to another level.
The Suns and Lakers was already good but now it going to be crazy to say the least.

Even though the whole Shaq hating Kobe thing is over it's nice being able to see the Big Fella again out west again.

Ok, but its not like Miami had to get rid of him right away.. there is no way they are making the playoffs.... Dallas makes their offer, Miami declines but waits 2 weeks for the deadline to pull the trigger with Phoenix... I dunno, just seems dumb to me..

From comments made it's obvious Phoenix's medical staff thinks they can do a better job than Miami's in getting him healthier in the coming weeks. It could be a rather significant difference.

*UPDATE 02-07-08*

From the Dan Patrick radio show:

- Expect Shaq to play his 1st game against the Lakers after All-Star break (Feb 20), but don't be surprise if PHX decides to activate him much later, probably not til their 1st game in March. All depends on how Shaq's feeling after the break. Suns do not want to rush it if they don't have to.

- Shaq has lost close to about 8-10 lbs when he came to PHX.

- Officials are concerned about the inflammation on Shaq's hip. Seems like it could be a long term detriment to his playing career if not taken cared of properly right now. They really want him to rest it and strengthen it while in rehabilitation so he could also be on the floor a little more longer.

- New nickname for Shaq is the Big Shaqtus (Big Cactus).
