If you haven't watched the press conference from thurs. morning, do it.
This article pretty much wraps up my favorite parts of the conference, particularly his comment about this being the Amare Stoudamire project. To see Shaq acknolwedge that this isn't all about him and be confident in his ability to make everyone around him that much better, in particular Amare and he also includes Bell, is really refreshing. I do have confidence in the fact that he will bring a lot to this team being an experienced champion. He knows his role and he also has told Mike D that he will just adjust to the Suns, the Suns don't have to adjust to him. At this point, Shaq is saying all the right things and all that's left is for him to do is follow through, which I for one believe he will.
I especially liked it when he said he is known to do things when he gets angry, like win championships. SO BRING ON THE CRITICISM!

Shaq said all the right things in the Sportscenter interview. He said he'll adjust to the team and won't make everyone adjust to him, he just wants to fit in and doesn't have to be that guy anymore.
During the physical the medical staff was like, "oh thats all thats wrong with you? We'll fix that.". Thats giving me the most hope with our medical staff, out of everything. As long as Shaq is really committed and focused on staying in shape and doing the exercises, I don't see how he can't improve physically with our staff and their techniques. The question has always been Shaq's commitment. His 1st year in Miami, he was probably in the best shape of his post Orlando career. He was looking noticeably leaner, but it was because he was motivated and intent on showing everyone he still had it. We need that same kind of motivation, but sustained through next year (I don't want to see him come into camp at 340lbs next season). Thats down the road tho...

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

The way I see it, he is commited to getting himself his 5th and 6th ring. Even if this isn't the year, I'd be happy to see back to back championships in '09 and '10. With the training staff in PHX, I'm confident that Shaq can not only get healthy, but improve physically and stay healthy while here in PHX. He said that when he heard the practice regiment for Danotni and the Suns, a big smile crossed his face.
Also a cool thought that Shaq might retire with the Suns if we get those championships.

He promised to get Boris Diaw to make a move to the left.
I wonder if he will help him find his other nut. He seems to have found one.

Props to Kerrsed for the sig
