One version of this rumor has the Dallas Mavericks involved. We've heard that it might be as part of a three-team deal that would land Jason Kidd in Dallas (the Mavs don't need Marion when they have Josh Howard), but then we've also heard that it might just be with Dallas.

check the heat boards, its posted in there somewhere, he definately said it
Ya after I posted I went looking for it and read the article on espn.com, that's why I posted again saying I had read it. Interesting to see Riley making that comparison. Shoud also be interesting to see if Marion is deserving of being the second option and such a comparison.

Yep, unless the other trade was announced when the Phoenix deal went down, there's no way for Miami to move Marion prior to the deadline. You'd think most writers would have realized that.

That rule onlt applies if thy trade him with another player - Marion can be traded immediately if he's the only player that Miami is sending out. It's the "Non-simultaneous trade" rule.

I beleive that when a team trades a certain player they need to be in that roster for about 90 days.... We have about 13 days before the trading dealine expires, not a true rumor in my opinion.
