"Him talking about me is like the owner of Atari talking about Bill Gates. Can't do it. Pecking order rules." - Oneal

God I love the way he just takes what is thrown at him and fires right back. You need that type of killer attitude.

As long as he backs it up, I'm good.

my first inclination is to take a shot at Walton, but I saw him at a concert once, and its seems that the Gods have already punished him for being such an ass! he can barely walk, he is so beaten down!

so in summation, i have 4 words for Walton and his analysis: Thanks, but, no thanks!

Bill's been loopy for a while. Remember that bizarre rant about how Diaw was like DaVinci?

I have no idea how Walton has a job. He's one of the biggest idiots in sports, and I'm not even talking about right now..ever since he opened his mouth he's been annoying as hell.

I can't stand listening to Walton. They guy is an idiot, and should not be apart of the top 50 players. He was good for a few years and that was it. I love how shaq fired back and talked about the pecking order of all time great bigmen.

This guy does not know when to shut up. I have no idea how Steven A can sit in a room with this butt licking lakers/celtics lover.

shaq has always been a quote machine my personal favorite is:

(reguarding his beef with kobe)

"Yesterdays news doesn't make todays paper."

I liked how Shaq calls it big man rule 525. I think its fine if Walton wants to critize the trade, but where he was stupid is the "Shaq's arrogance is an insult to people who think" That was a dumb comment by him.

While Walton has said some pretty bizarre things in the past, he is spot on with this assessment. Shaq keeps saying that he is the son of a military father and he serves his enlistment. Sorry Shaq, military people do not fake injury so that they can get traded to another army. Military people also do not hold off surgery, leaving teammates out to dry, so that they can have it on company time (one of the reasons Buss did not extend him).

Sun fans should definitely be enthused, since Shaq is motivated. Heat fans should be angry since he quit on them. As a former military member myself, Shaq should just drop the "enlistment" line.

Pecking order for using the "enlistment" line

1. Someone that has served

99999. Someone that has not served and gives less than 100% in difficult situations.

Coming from someone else who has served, it's easy to take that stance when you are serving on the most dominant "team" in the world. When you are serving for a 2-bit dictator who doesn't have air superiority I can see how even a "good soldier" could shut it down.

Fact is Shaq has played hurt for Riles in the past. This time he was injured but wasn't in any hurry to come back. I really don't have any problem with that considering the pathetic group Riley had put around him. The coach himself has shut it down in the past. Riley's methods don't work really well when you are 30 games under .500.

Sorry to say - The Soldier on the most dominant team (Lakers 2002) in the world took surgery in company time.

I do not get the soldier line either.

Bill Walton haters...

well to me I'm assuming you guys just don't get him..

Most of the things he says are half facts, half entertainment.... he improvises for the sake of saying something... its a skill actually.

He is half serious most of the times, sometimes not even serious at all... he says them for sake of commenting and its far more entertaining than your plain game announcers who literally comments on whats going on court... its redundant for people who know the game or watching it....

sometimes watching the game and then you'd hear Walton make a comment about a historian or a historic figure then saying how so and so was married to so and so... or how about his geographical information that just comes out of nowhere....most of the times I watch the game then have to stop and just go "What did he just say?"

I think people who hate him are the straight forward types... the ones that wants the commentary to be strictly on the game... and sometimes a little bit of quirkyness is needed... just like Barkley..

that said, I think Shaq went a bit overboard and missed the point why Walton made the comment...
