Kerr: Trade seriously being considered

The Suns worked out four players Tuesday in their continuous search to find the thirteenth man to finalize their roster.

Carlos Powell, Bobby Jones, Ronald Dupree and Linton Johnson each participated in a shoot-around.

Phoenix has until Friday to fill the final roster spot, according to Suns GM Steve Kerr.

Kerr said the Suns could come to a decision as soon as Wednesday, but will likely wait until after Thursday's trade deadline passes before finalizing their roster. The idea of filling the final roster spot via trade is strongly being considered, Kerr said.

I hope Kerr can just pull out a trade that will land Phoenix a defensive oriented 2/3 and decent 4 for Boris straight-up.

i hope you are right. it cant be bell and barbs who will compliment shaq's inside presence with their outside shooting.

Villanueva?

edit. it should be a good 2 or 3 defender.

I'm open to any trade not involving the Atl pick. Trade exemption and a 2nd round pick for Pietrus and getting Sarver to suck up a little L Tax is a pipe dream but would be very sweet. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong about combing a draft pick with a trade exemption...

Might not be a bad idea to dump the ATL pick soon. They have a very, very good chance at the playoffs. Especially after the Bibby acquisition and the fact that they are in the East.

Probably don't have a chance of landing these guys in a worthwhile trade for the Suns, but would love to see all of them in a suns uni...

Jamal Crawford
Mike Miller
Andre Miller

Crawford is a chucker and Andre Miller will be the $9 million backup to Nash. Mike Miller would look great here though and we should add Artest to the list too.

easy to say that now. They look good on paper. And they're tied for 7th in the East.

I'm not too much of a fan of the idea that we should trade the ATL pick just because it's going to be a little worse than we expected (okay, a lot worse). But we need to stockpile young talent.

In a few years, Shaq's gonna be gone, Nash will be gone, Hill will be gone, etc. We've turned into a VERY old team considering just a few years ago, we were one of if not the youngest team in the league.

That said, we also need another shooter. Nash/Barbosa/Bell is NOT going to get it done. I don't feel confident in the fact that we only have three real threats to shoot the ball, and everyone else is spotty. We need a shooter who could also play D rather than a defender who could "also shoot".

Just my opinion.
