Diaw and Barbosa are complete no-shows, Shaq isn't at 100% for his first game with a radically new system, and shoot terribly from 3, and turn it over 12 times...
And the game ends up being a nail-biter ending that could've gone either way.
Yup... Lakers totally dominated. Why did you even post this? It was written by hand with Phil's semen.

What a horribly written article, I'm not sure why any of us are supposed to care about a gay Kobe lover's blog written at a 3rd grade reading level.

That guy doesn't even know the Clippers exist.

Smith has been bashing Kupchak and the Lakers for years. He finally said something that made sense.

Like a difference between a fan of the Lakers and Clippers? If you love LA, you can't just love one team. It doesn't make sense.

A team trying to incorporate a player who hasn't played in 2 months still scored 124 points. Yeah, the Lakers defense looked fantastic too.

This guy probably gives Phil Jackson HJ's on the side just like Charlie Rosen of Fox Sports. He's a catcher on the Los Angeles Laker media circle jerk team I'm sure.

Don't sell your boys short. Nash and Stoudemire have always been the two best players on that team. They make the Suns go. Adding Shaq is not going to prevent them from scoring a lot of points. It also won't help them stop other teams from scoring either. In fact, they were better defensively with Marion.
With Bynum, Mihm, and Ariza out and Kwame gone, that leaves the Lakers with a huge defensive hole down in the paint (for now). Amare was able to do what he wanted without a real defensive presence in the paint the other night.
It'll be interesting to see what Shaq can do in back to backs (Suns have 3 left) and games separated by 1 day of rest (12 left). Amare is really going to have to step his game up these last 28 games. I hope to see a Lakers-Suns West Final.

Lakers fans, lakers commentators are so funny. They are huge bandwagoners. I spent half the year reading about how they hate their GM and how they hate Kobe. Damn Kobe even got booed at a lakers home game!
now Kobe is the greatest and Mitch is the greatest GM in the world.
Couple of Points.
1) Cant wait to see Bynums first game back! Im sure he is going to be awesome. Yawn.
2) Lakers defense, hahaha the game to the end with a mistake here and there that went in the lakers favor. Could have gone anyway.
3) SUNS have NEVER EVER played with a big man. To incorporate a big man into a system that has never had one, it takes more then one game.
4) Amare owned the Lakers and will continue. He will no longer get into foul trouble because he doesnt have to guard guys bigger then him anymore!
5) Kobe is shooting 46% from the field for the season with a lousy 35% from three. 5o+ % is few and far between, that was one of the between games.

because the 90's have so much to do with now
how many players from the 90's are still on each team?
how many players from the last 3 years are still on each team?
current history is far more relevant
im still not worried about a team who cant finish us off at home while bell is sitting in a bar watching

^ exactly
shaq will be a different player, the suns will be different team.
Shaq had 2 turnovers on inbounds passes that cost us 5 points, and we had no raja for the last 3 minutes to defend kobe either
things didnt go our way, so be it congrats to the lakers. but to think we cant beat them is ludicrous, if anything i am more confident after seeing what it took for the lakers to beat us and how we scored 124 in our first game with fat old shaq?
crazy
people always diss amare and his D but have never realised the issues that him defending the other teams star big causes with him playing weak D to avoid fouls then less minutes because of foul trouble
since the trade amare is averaging 31.5 and 12.5 - no reason we wont see those numbers for the remainder of the season now
stat is a beast

Life long Suns' fan here. I can give the Lakers' their props; they made the best move of any team this season, hell, maybe ever. Gasol for Kwame has to be the most lopsided trade of all time.
However, that being said, I don't think Bynum coming back makes you any better. Gasol is far better than Bynum.
And in the end, it really doesn't matter about Shaq or Gasol or Bynum or even Nash or Amare. It all rests on Kobe, I think he may be the most talented player ever (on par with Jordan), but when it comes down to will and determination; there is something lacking. MJ and Magic were flat out winners who would do anything to get it done, no excuses. If Kobe had half their "intestinal fortitude", we could stop playing now and just give the Lakers the championship. But, fortunately for all of us, he hasn't shown it. I can't explain it, but there is something missing from Kobe's personality that will never let him or the Lakers reach the success they had in the 80's with him as their best player.
