Should be a great game. Another national TV game for the Suns... Seems like every game they play is on national TV.
Pistons 98
Suns 94

I have a feeling this is going to be a carbon copy of the BOS game, except Detroit's offense won't completely suck, so this will be a tough, tough game.

Congratulations on your win against the Celtics. Hopefully you guys can continue to triumph over the East's best teams. I'm looking at a monster game from Amare. A 34/14 type game. I believe the Suns are the 2nd best team in the West. You guys are so under the radar for having great seasons but slowing down in the playoffs. With Shaq, maybe things can change. I notice the new Suns attitude against the Celtics. No more soft stuff. Good luck Suns. Hope you continue on your success.

If Sheed plays well, Detroit will win. Amare can't guard jump shooters yet

Going to be close, neither team will get 100.

Why is everyone folding on the SUNS and giving the game to Detroit?
Historically sheed has been a non-factor against the SUNS AND they have no beef to put on Shaq.

Not true anymore. Amare has become a quite good man-defender, jump shooter or not. His straight up shot blocking is intimidating nowadays. His main defensive shortcoming is still off ball positioning. But with Shaq behind him, it's not too costly of mistakes now.

The bigger questions is can Sheed guard AMARE both inside and out?

his off the ball defense on gasol was certainly costly.
Hey, i'd love to see Amare play good one on one with sheed and dirk, but it's not happening yet. His post one on one has improved 10 fold since the start of the season though.
And sheed ain't stopping amare, not with the tear he's been on. I'm giving Shaq 15 and 11, Amare 32 and 8, Suns for the win by 8-12. Look for a big game by Billups!

Who's going to guard Chauncey? I imagine Raja will be on Rip, so does Hill guard Chauncey? If so, then that's a huge mismatch with Nash on Prince.

Historically Billups has done very very well against Nash.
I would say its a safe bet that Billups has had more 30+ pt games against Nash the last 5 seasons than any other PG.

With the big fella in the middle no perimeter player not named Kobe or LeBron is likely to have big games as they hardly could get their complete game going by scoring big in the paint. The big 2 of Celtics, Pierce and Allen, certainly were ineffective last game.
Lakers had plays to set offball screen for Gasol and Amare was not alert enough for that. However, this will change in the playoffs. The coaches certianly will correct this mistake by then.

If Sheed guards Amare then that leaves McDyess on Shaq and that's a huge mismatch. I would think Sheed guards Shaq. I hope they will start working a few called plays in for Shaq here and there. Especially late when they want to get the other team in the penalty. We saw what happened last night when Shaq had Perkins pinned in the paint. Perk was fouling for dear life.

Shaq doesn't do much defensively against the Pistons.
The Pistons get beat on points in the paint almost every game.
They shoot a high volume of jump shots.
They'll go to Sheed, Billups, or Prince in the post for certain mismatches but they're not a team that lives off penetration to the paint.
The only guy who really penetrates a lot is Stuckey.

Agreed, Nash just can't defend Chauncey at all, but I don't know who else he could match up with.
