Shaq Says Chill Out Dudes

"We still have to be realistic about things," O'Neal said. "We've still got a lot of figuring out to do. If everybody just sticks to their role, we should be fine."
Steve Nash lamented the lack of confidence and cohesion but repeatedly mentioned that the process will take time. Coach Mike D'Antoni talked about adjusting to new roles, specifically Amar

Laid back, that is what the big man needs.
I am not worried. I think they have a lot of things to iron out, and time will tell us how far they will go. The suns need another 3-pt threat, spacing and know their roles on this team. AFter a few weeks, we will see how this all works out.

I agree, but It's kind of funny to see how many people are waiting for us to fall flat in our faces. We will see in a couple of weeks how and if this is going to work out. The Suns are desperate need of another 3 point threat. Brent Barry would fit in perfectly but many like myself, beleive that the Spurs are going to resign him.
Quick questions, why is it that we can't contact Brent Barry till Tuesday, but the Rockets have??

I think you can't OFFICIALLY contact Berry yet but nobody could stop a GM from making a personal call

"We are offering the maximum allowed on a two-year contract," said Daryl Morey, Rockets General Manager. "We are in full pursuit."

"Chill Out Dudes" O'Neal said.
Dang, I was hoping for a cool quote like from the Ron Artest thread.

What's he going to call himself next, The Big Chill...or Lax-a-Shaq

In all seriousness.. do you believe that we can just adapt a new gameplan and incorporate someone with Shaq's presence all in half a season and expect to win the championship? If somehow we make it to the Finals this year I will be astounded and feel that God was on our side.
If this is a two year plan then thats a tad ridicoulous cause I think our chances worsen next year. Not moving Marion in the offseason has put this team to the brink and making brutal trades has put this team to the brink.
The Suns are such a tease.

Come on guys it wasn't just Shaq. The entire team looked lethargic. Grant Hill was missing layups, Raja was missing wide open shots. The d did a 180 after the Boston game.
It was a fluke.

I don't think you guys have much to worry about at this point. The Suns played against 3 of the best teams in the NBA this year. The loses against the Lakers and Pistons could have still resulted in losses without the trade. LA is a bigger team and much more talented that before with the Gasol trade, and the Pistons have always been a good tough defensive team.
The next 5 games for you guys don't seem too be bad. NO and DEN being the only challenge. It'll still take some time for Shaq adjust to the team. So its a good opportunity to get some easy wins plus more game time experience for the big guy.

Nash and Shaq have both phoned Barry about coming to PHX, according to TNT announcers.

Anyone who thinks you can incorporate a 7'1", 310 pound center in three games is insane. Shaq still isn't in basketball shape yet. Nash is still trying to figure out new passing lanes and where Shaq likes getting the ball. Shaq and Amare are feeling each other out.
Give it time.
This was a move designed for the post-season. Every game during the regular season at this point is simply designed for working out the kinks.
