A team that doesn't want him , who traded him, has a limited role for him? I don't think he'll come back to SA, if he wants a pivotal role.. I think that if he wants the biggest role, he'll come to us rockets, and if he wants a 2nd bigger role, he'll go to the suns. Houston is closer to his family too.

I will be shocked if he doesn't go back to SA. Here's what we know:
1. Barry gets traded right in the middle of rehabbing a bad ankle (ie, wasn't going to play this month anyway).
2. He goes to a team with former assistants and a GM from SA. This team just *happens* to cut him before March 1 - even though many other teams (like Sac, memphis and others) aren't planning on cutting their 1-year contract fillers they obtained in deals.
3. By moving Barry and Elson for Kurt, SA saves enough just to slide under the tax. Now, SA can add Barry back and still be under the tax.
The only reason he's saying he's even considering Phoenix is to make sure the league doesn't see the obvious charade this whole move was. It was simply a play between the Spurs and their old assistant GM now in Seattle to both get a better postseason big (KT), end up under the luxury tax and still keep Barry for the postseason roster.
It's a shame we don't have the "trade board" that Pop wanted during the Lakers move or they could have rejected this deal outright for collusion. It will be interesting to hear Pop's comments on the "fairness" of this whole situation when Barry commits to SA tomorrow. Somehow I doubt he will show as much outrage as he did after the Gasol move.

I totally expected him to sign with san antonio purely because it seems like a no brainer for the spurs for the reasons that arles listed
his family is there etc, so why would he leave if he didnt have to?
Tho that said, he would get a better opportunity in phoenix, (not too many players could say that at the moment) and perhaps he really isnt happy with the spurs for trading him?
i give us a 10% chance, the spurs 80% and mavs rockets celtics can split the remaining 10%
one thing that gives me hope is that he is deciding by tomorrow, instead of drawing it out the 30 days, does he already know he doesnt want to return to san antonio and is ready to start with another team?
once again i doubt it, but i do have some hope it just might happen for us
