I'm blowing some smoke here......

1) Can't move Doris.
2) SUNS "could" get a top five slot in the draft.
3) Nash can't guard a 90 year-old woman.
4) Maybe insist on taking Doris too as part of the trade.

Pros, Cons?

We should trade Amare too, just to make it fun.

Next year at the deadline, the thought of rebuilding while Nash is still an All-Star has to be a compelling thought.

I doubt it'll happen and I don't think that Nash will ever bring back fair return value but it's something that Kerr has to consider. If the Suns make a good run of it and make it to the WCFs, though, you can bet that it won't happen and that'd be wise.

But the honest question to be asked is "how much does Nash have left?" Also, "Do we hang onto him through the bitter end or trade him while he still has craploads of value?"

Weighty matters.

Its a nice thou8hgt but Nash is not the problem Dantoni's lack of commitment on defense is a bigger problem. Nash is the suns system right now and Dantoni is just paid to pretend that he knows how to coach so why not fire him instead of trading nash.

good god we lose a few games of late and have 39-19 record...and now people are talking about trading steve nash...this is unbelievable! lol

if you trade nash, then you gotta trade shaq, which makes it much much harder.

D'Antoni's rotations aren't great and the individual defenders are poor AND the team defensive scheme is weak.

And all that said, they still have a pretty decent chance of figuring things out and winning a title. There's got be some patience and some time for the slumps to end, Raja to start defending, DJ to get some more PT...

Trading Nash shouldn't be something undertaken lightly; if it's done, it should be done in the 09/10 season, because then you can also move Shaq as an expiring deal (exercising Nash's team option and then dealing him at like the deadline).

All good things, right? Nash'll be 35 in 09/10.

To be honest, I think somehow finding a way to move Diaw for someone who can defend the wing would be nice; Diaw doesn't contribute much anyway, so even if it's "lesser value," it's OK.

Also, trying to make a play for Reggie Evans wouldn't suck.

i have never followed a team as much as i follow the suns because of nash. i have been a fan of bulls, kings and spurs.

you guys have to thank nash on what he brought to this franchise.

and i tell you guys, WE WILL WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR!!!

No point in moving Nash. He only makes 11-12 million the next two seasons.

He was a truckload better than Marbury, that's for sure, and more entertaining besides. Is, really, because he's still here.

I've seen Nash do things with his off-hand that I only really saw Magic, Stockton and Bird do. As a floor general, playmaker and shooter, he's something the Hell else and a pleasure to watch.

That's still significant enough that it could bring back some decent returns. I wouldn't do it next season, though, I'd definitely wait until 09/10 if there will be any trades at all.

Just don't forget that Seattle has our 2010 pick. So, blowing everything up before that draft won't help us. Might as well ride this out and use the 10/11 season to reload.

What some of you might not know/remember is that the 2010 pick is completely unprotected.

That, I did not know and it certainly changes the complexion of the scenario.

Like I said before, we aren't going to blow this thing up and rebuild in the near future even if the FO want to. We're going to ride this thing out, be as entertaining as possible, sell as many ticket as possible, and then go back to square 1 when Nash retires, title or no title.
