IF we get Giri....

If the Suns are able to add Giri, I think there is an opportunity to improve on both offensive and defense. Having him come off the bench with Barbosa, Skinner and DJ will help our shooting and D. Plus it gets Skinner back in the lineup adding more consistency inside while Shaq is out and still allows us to run. This lineup would send Diaw into a string of consecutive DNPs that he deserves. His playmaking is overated, his turnovers are killing us, his rebounding is weak and no one is afraid of his shot. I never see him sweat on the court and that really bothers me more than anything. At least this way we have shooters, toughness, running, D and most importantly heart with the second unit.

If the Suns sign Giricek...

Will D'Antoni play him?

What will be the line-ups?

Ideally you want some time with Bell and Giricek on.
As well as when Barbosa and Giricek is on too.

Diaw and Hill will need to reduce minutes. Rest Hill up anyways, don't want fatigue to affect him in the important run in March.

The guy hasn't even been released yet...don't get too far ahead of yourselves. You guys know what happened to the "Suns get Quinton Ross" thread.

There is no question in my mind that Gira will play. He is flat out better than the other options that MD has. He's going to be motivated to get another contract so we should get his best game. Remember he was a pretty good player before he went to Utah.

All of Phoenix's problems are solved. Gordan Giricek is coming to town.

Yeah Gordon's a last resort. Kerr's been whiffing for a while, not for lack of trying. No room to talk trash at all as a Cavs fan, Lebron is on an island over there without a phone.

He has a right to be sarcastic. Giricek hasn't done anything in his career to make any fan in the league respect him. Maybe that will change in the Sun's system, but from what I've seen so far in his play, I'm not going to get my hopes up. At the very best, I expect him to hang around the 3 pt line, catch and shoot. Nothing else.

^that's exactly why I said he's a last resort. He's never instilled fear in anybody as a player and I'm certainly not excited. He's not helping our lack of perimiter D at all right now which is a major concern.

I think most of us fans know we're getting the last girl standing waiting for a dance. Hopefully Giri's got a few grooves we haven't seen

He was a pretty good sg before Jerry Sloan go ahold of him. Obviously we can't expect alot but he may surprise some people.

giricek has had 5 seasons in the L averaging over 10 ppg

thats enough to be respected IMO

i think giricek will play, he will get the minutes DJ and Linton have been getting

linton played 20 minutes in the last game and bell nash hill diaw have all been playing 5mpg too many

so im expecting 20mpg from giricek and averages of about 8 and 2 with an assist and about 3 3 point attempts per game (which would be almost a career best other than his one season in orlando)

Not good enough for me, a lot of people can average 10 ppg if they concentrate all their energy on offense and none on defense. Some of the biggest team cancers and ballhogs averaged more than that, does that mean we have to respect them too? I watched that Orlando team, and wasn't impressed by how soft he was. I'm hoping with my all that his production will change in the Suns system, and he will realize that his career will come to a close if he doesn't step it up.

Sloan is a pretty good coach....He loved Bell, and most games Giricek started over Bell during their time there. That should show some people that he deserves some respect. His first season in Utah he was getting a lot of comparisons to Hornacek. Now obviously I don't feel he is that good, but I do feel that we are a much better fit for his skill set than he was in Utah. I like the move.

Doesn't the team that waives the player still have to pay out the contract?
