Saw it last night and was kind of surprised. I didn't realize they set the movie in the real world, in the ABA. The Flint tropics seem to have been modelled on the Miami Floridians, with the pastel unis and racing stripes on the jerseys like the old Maravich era Hawks.

Pretty funny, no Slapshot, but worth seeing if you're a basketball geek.

It does capture a lot fo the madness that was the ABA, insane promotions, no money, and sneaker freaks will di the old school shoes; I saw a pair of Pro Ked Royal Court hi-tops on one actor.

Thanks for that info. I am actually going to head out in like 30 mins to go see it.

I just want it to be better than Talladega Nights. That one was awful.

I can't wait for it to come out here down in Oz, either that or a decent version that I can download.

Just got back from seeing it. It was a decent movie. Nothing on Anchorman's level but much better than Talladega. This one had more story to it.

And it helps to like basketball as well.

Funny thing is the last game in the movie is against the Spurs. And Will's team almost seems like that of the Suns with the style they play. Watch and you will see.

talladega really dissapointed me

im a big will ferrell fan, but his characters in a night at the roxbury, jay, anchorman and silent bob strike back etc is the will i like

more recent movies like kicking and screaming, elf, talladega nights etc have sort of let me down. They are funny and all, but not quite the same
