Is it time to get rid of D'Antoni and Raja Bell

D'Antoni cant coach worth anything. He has no idea how to coach defense or a half court set. Bring in Tom Chambers to coach this team. Bell is just pathetic and weak. They should just waive him and give all his minutes to DJ and Giricek

If you can point me in the direction of an 'avg pg' that is averaging 17 ppg and 10 apg over his last 10 games, I'll be happy to agree with you.

If you can point me in the direction of an 'avg pg' who doesn't turn the ball over 6 times a game, I'll be happy to agree with you.

Fixed.

This is honestly the dumbest thread I've ever read on RealGM...

Call yourself a Suns fan...pfffft.

For shame.

I for one, question Raja's ability. Have the injuries and minutes caught up with him ? This 'Heart and Soul' label is nothing but a sticker on a can. He isn't to be able to get the job done defensively, and is has picked up some streaky tendancies as a shooter. But he is some kind of tough guy competitor so we cut him the slack.

Bitch all you want about this thread... There may be some substance to it.

Funny post

chefy wrote:larry brown would improve your team's D

Even funnier post

Seriously guys, I know our play sucks at the moment, but is putting all the blame on our coach and one or two of our players really fair?! I know Nash doesn't look too good on the court at the moment, but for Christ's sake - he's the heart and soul of this team! Where would we be without Steve this season? I can tell you where we'd be: NOT in the playoff race, and thanks to Sarver & Kerr we wouldn't even have the lottery pick enabling us to make the best out of that situation. It really pisses me off to read rants about our captain, since, no matter whether he has a great game our a bad game, you can never question his will and passion for the game.

I'm not a huge fan of Raja either, but even if his defense is overrated - which is something I read on this board all the time these days - he's still one of our best defenders, sad but true. I'm not totally against trading him, but only if we could manage to get a better defender in return, which isn't too likely.

Now, looking at all the hate for coach Mike D - who would be a good alternative? I'm not even pretending that he's the best coach in the league, but he's definitely not the worst, either. So, who should we replace him with? Larry Brown, seriously?! Don't make me laugh! He's about the only dude who actually managed to look even more stupid than Isiah during the past few years.
Face it, people: there aren't really any better alternatives available! Iavaroni might have been worth a try, but you can't blame him for leaving our team for a head coach opportunity.

I'll admit that I tend to blame Sarver and Kerr for most part of our problems, since I still think that the KT trade in combination with the Shaq deal looks completely ridiculous. IMO Kerr does whatever Sarver says, he's an unexpirienced manager who wants to be successful in this league and, since he's new to the job, believes that doing everything the boss tells him is the right way. Wouldn't have happened with Bryan still around.
On the other hand - signing both Hill and Skinner for close to nothing were brilliant moves, especially Grant has been a huge factor for us allseason long.

To me, this season is pretty much over. Play it till the bitter end, at least reach the playoffs and try to give your best there - that's what I expect from the team. Doubt we'll make it far in the post season. But there's still always next year, right? And as bad as we may be looking at the moment, I'm still not willing to give up on this franchise - they'll bounce back next season, with Shaq being used to the other guys and (hopefully) some good free agent signings.

One last point I'm absolutely convinced of: this trade sucks, I don't like it and I'm sure it will hurt us for the next couple of years. But Marion, as much as I love the guy, wouldn't have lead us to a championship this year, either. Some people keep mentioning that with Marion walking we would have had the money to sign a guy like Brand, but that's just bull since we're close to the lux tax, meaning we wouldn't have had much cap space even with Trix gone. And a sign & trade most likely wouldn't have brought us a great contributer, either.

Seriously guys, stop the whining & complaining AND, especially, STOP TELLING ME THAT LARRY BROWN WOULD BE A GOOD COACH FOR US!!! ;)

Bell and Nash would be fine if Mike D stop playing them 40+ MPG. The minutes (especially the "stressful minutes" for Nash) are starting to wear on both these guys. Play both 30-32 MPG and their production will spike up.

Oh, and sorry for injecting some analysis into this cry for attention post. ;)

I agree arles. I personally think the mins have caught up with them. Bell is a good shooter, but has been so hot and cold this year, more cold that is.

I do put a lot of blame on DA. What great coachs do is adjust to the situation and overcome it. DA is score, run more and play 7 guys. If we both get giri and lue, hell, we finiall have 10 guys that can play. Use them, and safe some of our guys legs. I hate phil, but he has done a great job with his roster, DA has not.

D'Antoni is pissing me off because of his stupid rotation and the fact that he won't put in our players that are good at DEFENSE when DEFENSE is obviously are biggest PROBLEM. I know he's trying to get our starters to mesh with shaq, but he needs to get the bench in their too if we want a shot in the post season. Remember last year when we lost to the spurs in the last few minutes (when Stat and Diaw were out) because our players were tanked? Yeah, if D'Antoni played a 9 to 10 man rotation like just about EVERY other team in the NBA we wouldn't have had that problem. DJ and Skinner need to get more playing time because they'll try make an impact so they don't get dumped and the same goes for L. Johnson. Our rotation should be the Nash, Bell, Amare, Shaq, Diaw, Barbosa, Skinner, DJ, Giricek, and Johnson if we keep him. I'm not saying they need to play big minutes, but at least let nash and bell get some air it's pretty obvious they're being overplayed and under performing right now.
