I posted this on another board and didn't really get what I was looking for. Some other poster turned it into something that it wasn't ment to be.

I must say that the Suns and Mavericks have made grave mistakes by trading for Kidd and Shaq. I must say that the Suns(3-4) after picking up Shaq have played with no heart at all and the Mavericks(4-3) after picking up Kidd. Those four wins came from Memphis, Minnesota, Chicago, and Sacramento.

This is for the Suns:

1. Tell me what you felt as the trade talk was going on?
2. Tell me what you felt when the trade went down?
3. Tell me weather or not this trade made you better?( you must state why or why not)
4. Tell me how you felt as your team slid down the standings(Suns at #5 and Mavricks at #7)
5. Tell do you think this was a panic move by your team?(you must state why or why not)

The reason I'm asking this is because after these trades 4 out of the 6 team are still playing well, those teams being Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, and Rockets. I must also say lets keep in clean when responding. I don't want this to get out of hand at all. I just want to see where everybody is at on this.

This coming from a Lakers fan.. go figure...

If you wanna compare wins im not taking anything away from the Lakers but during there unbelivable strech after the Gasol trade they played Miami, Minnesota, Charlotte, Atlanta, Seattle, LA with two other games against playoff teams. I wouldn't put the Spurs, Hornets, or Rockets with the Suns and Mavs because they made minor trades for there bench. Phoenix and Dallas made major blockbuster trades.

Now to the questions...

1. At first when rumors came out I didn't really believe it and I was kind of against it but the trade happened relatively quick.

2. When the trade went down I was in a state of shock. I respected him but hated him as well while he was in LA but didn't mind him so much in Miami. I never thought I would see the day Shaq wore a Suns jersey but like many around the country I was curious to see how it would work out.

3. Its made them better in some categories but has weakened others. This team is dominating in rebounds with Shaq and they draw a lot of fouls with Shaq's inside presence. On the other side the loss of Shawn Marion has really weakened the perimeter defense.

4. I don't think playoff seeding matters this year. Your going to face a championship contender in each round this year and yes the home court is nice but this team has won on the road before and you have to go one the road sometime in a series.

5. Absolutely I think it was a panic move but also a necessary move. They couldn't match up with the height of the Lakers, Hornets, or Spurs and this team was getting killed down low every game in rebounds and while a post player would explode for 40 points.

1. I'll admit I was very excited at the possibility. I know this team needed serious size and that championship experience. Plus, its still Shaq.

2. I felt excited that we got a guy like Shaq and also sad to see Marion go. This is one of the best players if not the best to ever get traded to the Suns.

3. If we go by what's currently happening, then no. But I think it will work out and we will be better because of it. Our rebounding and toughness have definitely gone up but our fast break threat and perimeter D have gone down tremendously and thats bad.

4. I felt bad. Its not good seeing your team go down in the standings, especially after you traded arguably one of the greatest Suns in Suns history. I just hope we can get it turned around.

5. Honestly, yes and no. I know that we all knew we needed more size and it was evident that the team wasn't going to win a ring the way things were. Marion wanted to leave and he had demanded a trade. When the Suns found out Shaq was available and they could have Banks' horrible contract taken off, I think Sarver saw $ and the big man we so desperately needed.

I must say thanks for filling me in on everything I asked. I see that you guys put a lot of effort into what you posted as well. I'm really greatful for taking the time to do this for me

I felt even with Marion instead of O'neal, the Suns were stagnant. Lakers got bigger, Mavericks still had enough bigs to beat us on the boards, Spurs still had the same advantage as shown by slowing the game down.

The K.Thomas trade was basically the worst trade I can think off, considering the picks and financial situation the Suns is on now. If they kept Thomas and Jones for this season, the team will still be second to Spurs... meaning Spurs is still the team that will beat the lineup using matchups... BUT, you have to factor in that the Spurs will have players that will down year, as shown by their lack of repeat championships, although still the best team in the last decade. I think if they met again with the same lineup... effort alone and luck.... maybe would swing a game or steal a game from the Spurs and somehow beat them.... the revenge theme was motivation enough.


Now?
The Suns have the same impact that K.Thomas brought minus the 4 inches in height and occasional dunk. The Suns are missing a long defender and shooter in James Jones. And the Suns traded 2 future picks that ironically got much more valuable when they traded them away with Kurt Thomas.

Shaq's addition wouldnt be such an issue if Marion was stil a Sun, but not to be.

I must say you guys have been very helpful in my study. I'm very greatful for you taking time out of you day to help me.

Shaq came to the suns for his playoff experience. Not for the regular season. I made myself believe that the trade would work. It's no mystery that shaq is on the downfall. But I am sure he will give it his all in the playoffs. Right now it is about him getting comfortable in the Suns' system. The only thing that the suns should be worrying about is the seed in the playoffs. Judge the trade when the playoffs come not when he has been here for about 10 games or so.

Yeah its for work. They handed out little projects for us to pic from and mine was to fine out how others felt about a common thing. You guy have helped me out a great deal, thanks.
