Did you guys realize the Spurs won the championship last season?! Just thought I'd remind you...

@

Image

When: Sunday, March 9th, 2008
Where: US Airways Center - Phoenix, Arizona
When exactly: 3:30pm, Eastern Time (8:30pm CET)
TV: chillin' in front of Boris Diaw's 9 million TV while he's in the arena looking like a chick

Hey Katie, did you already notice who we'll be playing next?
Image
Haha, you obviously did

...and how about you, pencil pushers?
Image
Hell yeah, everybody loves it when the Spurs come to town

HERE ARE THE SUNS STARTERS THAT ARE ALREADY GOING CRAZY THINKING ABOUT THAT SUPER DUPER PARTY THEY'LL HAVE WITH THEIR GOOD OLD BUDDIES FROM SAN AN RIGHT AFTER THE GAME:

C:
Image
Shaq can't wait, and he even found his XXXXL party hat - too bad he missed the final workout since he accidentally locked himself in his XXXXXXXXXXXL closet

PF:
Image
Sorry STAT, but your girlfriend isn't welcome, leave her outside, will you?

SF:
Image
Bookworm! BOOKWORM! - seriously Grant, don't be such a party pooper...oh, and stop reading books about guys that lack balls, just ask Doris for advise if you need some!

SG:
Image
The hot chicks are right in front of you, Raja, RIGHT IN FRON...ah, forget it! Just have fun, ok?
...
Pervert!

PG:
Image
Alright Steve, you won - you may never be named the league's MVP again, but you once again defended your Suns Party-MVP title

The Bench:
Image
No worries, Spurs - our bench is full of those (not so) hot mammas Doris brought along after they went shopping together. U da pimp, dawg!
Isn't it great that Boris at least provides some help for our team off the court?

Well, and now it's time for the San Antonio Sterns' Starting 5:

PF:
Image
Aw, look at Timmy - he's totally excited about being here again. Hope you're doing well, buddy - we all love ya!

SF:
Image
No need for explanations, Bruce - we all know you won't break Grant's leg on purpose tonight, it will totally look like an accident

SG:
Image
Hey Gino: I never noticed you're white, dude :eek1:

PG:
Image
Tony! TONY! Say something in French, will you? Uuuh, this is so exciting! Oh, and btw: will Eva be around? Man, I'm tellin' ya - she's so freakin' hot (NOT!!!), better keep an eye on her during the party, Doris will be going crazy for the girls

C:
Image
No worries, Kurt, it's all good, you seem to be a great fit in San Antonio, we're really totally happy for you.

Who needs the bench with all of that fan support:
Image
Wish we'd have such great supporters, as well, since then coach D'Antoni's philosophy of watching our backup guys grow older each night would finally make some sense

Ok guys, let's get this stupid, meaningless game done so we can finally have fun together. The location is already set, as you can see:
Image

and I've been told that there will be some celebrities attending the party:
Image

Guess I won't be around for game time since I've got to improve my moves alongside NeverFear - we'll be the kings of the dance floor again fo sho:
Image

...

Oh, and regarding that stupid game: GOOO SPURS!!!...ah, DAMNIT - Stern got me too!!!

Let's devote this entire thread to giving praise to Moe's thread.

Nice work Moe. Love the thread!

And if you talk about the game, I will report you. LOL.

Against Spurs Defense... 18 Turnovers. Book it.

We need to win this game. I hope somebody goes out and like guarantees a victory of something. I hope something sparks this team. There are two keys to the game. First who will cover the Spur PGs throughout the game. Second, how will Shaq do defensively against Duncan?

Must. Win.

If we don't, I lose complete confidence in these guys, I've been wearing the orange sunglasses all year and sippin' the orange koolaid a ton, but this is starting to get pathetic watching Nash or Bell attempt to play D down the stretch. 3 quarters of good ball doesn't matter if you can't finish strong.

We need to win this game, plain and simple as everyone has said. It'd be the mental boost we've needed since the trade, and would stop their win streak. Going to be a TOUGH game and SA is clearly the team to beat once again, having ironed out the kinks as they always do.

Can't wait to see how Shaq goes...and SO SAD to see KT in Spurs uniform :(

First of all: thanks for all of your nice comments, guys, it was a whole lot of fun doing this one and I really appreciate your efforts to pet my ego :D

Regarding the game: I'm about as pessimistic as most of you - we did well against the Jazz, but still lost the game. We wasted a 9 point lead within less than 3 minutes - that's ridiculous, still can't believe it.
The only things that at least makes me hope a little is that 1. we're getting better with each game. This doesn't mean much since we're still making tons of faults, but at least there's some sort of development, and 2. we should be really fired up against the Spurs.
If we show another lethargic performance against them like we did during big parts of the games against Portland and Denver, for example, then I'll really be mad. This is a damn important game for us and our players have to finally show that they realized the situation we're in right now. If not, then even making it to the playoffs will be a pipe dream pretty soon.

So instead of going 3-1 or even 2-2 against Portland, Denver, Utah, and Spurs... We might end up going 1-3.

Do the Suns realize we needed to win these games? To be honest, if we do win against the Spurs, I am not sure I would feel complete relief.
