So ever since I lost my nba broadband live connection I haven't been able to watch much Suns ball, all I see if the boxscore at the end of the game like tonight.

Aside from the unusual number of high turnovers (a lot coming from Nash due to his "adjustments").

I still see Amare pretty much being a stud with roughly 20pts 10board etc... Nash is usually a double double (sometime tripple with turnover ugh). Shaq has been solid numberwise with a very good FG% (obv) and getting lots of rebound as expected, Hill/Diaw doing what they're suppose to.

The one glaring thing I see though is the shooting percentage of Bell and Barbosa flushing down the toilet....

Like I said I haven't actually seen a full suns game since a month ago but why are they tossing bricks out there? Barbs and Bell lately have been really really bad shooters, and everyone is screaming about lack of defense.

Could the lack of defense be more of a combination of stupid turnovers (till they gell without marion + shaq) as well Bell + Barbs tossing brick after brick? Or is it really truly bad defense that is slumping us right now? Box score doesn't really tell the whole story and I'd like to know.

Bell shot pretty good tonight. Barbosa was a non factor though.

Teams are shootin close to 55~60% when they play the Suns as of late.

Suns in the other hand shoot lower.


Suns opposition is averaging over 110+ ppg a game in the last several games.





They are out-running the Suns.... irony in its raw form.

they are missing the X factor aka the matriX... he did all the little things no one notices till he is gone.

I think you guyses traded the wrong guy... Amare should have been the one traded, not Marion... It would be simply scary right now, way too scary.

You guys hit it right in the nail... We just simply need to man up in the defensive side of the ball. We did see some imporvements on the d-side of the ball for the firts 1 1/2 quarter, but it seemed like we hid a wall again. Guys, we are about a 5-7 game winning streak away from the sky not falling. Why is it that Barbosa is a non factor?? He is missing shots that he simply used to make last yr....hmm

Our offense is lanky and lethargic.


So our only hope is to play defense. Fat chance...

How would it be scary? Marion would still play out of position. Opposing teams would still kill us inside, because Marion would be guarding the perimeter while Shaq would be the lone "defender" under the hoop.

The trade moves everyone back into their natural positions. And to be honest our glaring need is perimeter defense. And I hate to say this but that should come in the form of a PG and SG. Bell plays okay defense but as we all know, Nash is a little sub par.

Hill and Diaw lack lateral movement and Barbosa plays a little soft on the Defensive side (I think he would be upset at himself if he fouled hard... he wants everyone to like him).

One major problem I see is their second unit. Barbosa is a train wreck and players need to learn their role. If you have Shaq in there with the second unit, the ball needs to flow through him. Instead you have Barbosa taking ridiculous shots and Diaw trying to post up on guys like Boozer. Also Amare is a horrendous defender. He's constantly losing track of his man.

Amare should have been traded for KG. Nash/Marion/KG > Nash/Amare/Shaq

I think the biggest problem is probably that we keep losing.
