Apparently, Gordan is out of BB shape from being idle on the bench so long. So maybe we can expect to see improvement as he plays more?
Gordan Giricek gave the question some serious thought before shrugging his shoulders.

The wide open target practice he got last night shud help him get back in shape.
Right now LJ seems 2 be more ready for contribution then Giri and deserves more playtime (even tho GG did real good last night), but once GG gets in full shape I think he'll be the right choice for 8th man

In the Republic today they were saying that Johnson will be waived soon. Personally I really think that Gira is going to help us. He looks to be one of our better penetrators already. Once he is in game shape he should be able to help us from the perimeter ala his performance for Utah in last years playoffs.

I'm pretty sure that in our system he'll eventually get in rythm offensively.
What wud really be good tho is if he once he's in full shape he contributes on the defensive end as well. So far he seems lost on the defensive end...

I think GG might help us a lot, but we have to wait. It needs time, like Shaq needed time too.

Really? I think he has looked very solid so far. That's probably been the biggest surprise regarding his play.b-ball forever wrote:I'm pretty sure that in our system he'll eventually get in rythm offensively.

His current lack of lateral quickness made him a pushover (on the defensive end) on quite a few plays last night, the Memphis swingmen just blew past him.
I'm sure he's got the defensive fundamentals straight tho, so hopefully gettin in shape will stop him from letting that happen in the future

We might have to agree to disagree on that one because I think he has looked very solid on defense so far. Especially considering what we are paying him. The coaching staff has noticed it also. They have made some comments.

im pretty happy with his defense
i think he can become a poor mans harpring where is is quite annoying, physical - even a little bit craft? (dirty

Yeah guess we'll have to agree to disagree
Maybe he looks good on D in practice, but I def didn't see much of that defense in last night's Memphis game, to be fair he did play a lot more minutes then he's supposed to tho...

giri to me works hard. Is he the best defender, no, but he gives more than a lot of the guys do on our team.
He may be in shape, but game shape is sooooo much different, its weird. More time in the game will help him before the playoffs.

He looks to me like he is talented and competitive enough on both ends of the court that he might even play 18-20min/game. That would make this our deepest playoff team to date.

I thought he was solid on both sides of the ball. I think he will be a good asset for driving to the basket. We really haven't had anyone attack the basket besides Nash who dishes and gets assists and Barbosa who gets a step and has to go to the basket even with 3, 4, or 5 defenders coming at him.
Giri seems to play with his head up that way. Instead of his head down. I think he gives a kind of a Joe Johnson feel. Shoot the 3, play defense, and drive to the basket controlled.

shoots the 3, but doesn't make the 3.

Give it some time, he has been decent throughout his career.
He has surprised me with his defense and ability to put the ball on the floor.
Let me be the first to thank Barry for jerking us around and letting Giri fall in our laps, I think he is a far better all around player than Barry.

Barry>GG
This season and in previous seasons. Better skillset and just a better player, there's no denying that.
GG has the potential to really make himself a name here, hell he might even grow on the team enough to get a deal like Pike did for 2 years

Never say never! I am denying it. Barry is a spot up shooter at this point in his career and nothing more. Better skill set, great. That doesn't change the fact that I am a better defender than him. GG is a better all around player than Barry at this point in their two careers.
All we need is another one dimensional player who couldn't guard my mother!

I think GG has looked very solid. he makes the right play most of the time but when that right play is a jump shot, he's been missing them. i think it will come.
i think he could really cement minutes if he proves to be a tough guy that lays the lumber on someone now and then. maybe a flagrant foul or two?

especially if Pike gives him those compromising photos he has of Kerr. No chance to unseat the Surprising Sean Marks from his baggage handler/valet duties for StevieWonder though.

That sounds more like GG then Barry
