So I saw Boris Diaw today...

Post#1 » by Biff » Sat Mar 22, 2008 2:23 am

...At the Circle K in Fountain Hills. He took some pictures with some fat kids, signed a couple autographs and left with his 5 hot dogs in his Escalade. He was hauling some quads so I assume he was probably taking them for a spin up by Saguaro Lake.(or maybe not, read third paragraph)

He seemed like a pretty cool guy though. I didn't bug him but he was friendly with all the people bothering him for pictures and autographs.

The weird thing about the situation was that he was dressed entirely in camo and his quads were the 4x4 kind(and camo as well), not like a Banshee or Raptor or the sport variety. It was like he was going hunting. I have a hard time picturing Boris as the hunting type.

Glad he didn't load up on pastries.

I wish I had a camera when I ran into Nash and his G/F in his Lexus when he pulled up next to me once on Bell and Tatum.

Hunting the elusive King Hot Dog...they frequent the outskirts of the Desert I hear...using the 4 baby dogs as bait I'd imagine....

i doubt Diaw would be doing anything to crazy on a quad, he won't even take its strong to the hole.

i've seen him around a couple of time in Scottsdale; the last time was at the BofA, the day they played the Warriors(I think); he was doing something crazy with a transfer and there was only one teller open, i had to wait over 15 minutes. he seemed nice enough.

I thought this was going to be a satirical thread like the one we had a while back..

"so I saw (player x) in downtown Phoenix the other day.. (insert humourous mistruth here)"

Anyone remember that? Probably bump-worthy.

So I saw Shawn Marion in downtown Brisbane yesterday, he was in town getting a second opinion on the cause of the back spasms he's been experiencing lately.

He told me that the specialist told him that spending some time hitting the clubs and heading down the coast to the beach was the best remedy.

I asked him how that was supposed to help his spasms, and he told me that time away from Miami would make him forget about the tanking, and without the tanking he'd no longer have to worry about his "back spasms"..

I remember after his first year here Boris went on Safari in Africa over the summer. Not sure he was hunting but he does like doing some outdoors stuff.

So I saw Kobe Bryant at some hotel in Denver the other day. He was talking to some girl and then they just went upstairs into his room. Dont know what else happened, but he seemed like an ok guy...he was really antzy though, like he really wanted to do something with that girl. Whatever, I just brushed it off and continued to try and book my room, I tried to say bye but he was looking feriously at something else.

ok i didn't want to make a new thread about this, and saw this was about Diaw, so i have a question. Do you guys think Boris Diaw will be traded any time soon? I mean he barely plays, and doesn't get as many minutes as he should on your team. Plus the Phx front office (besides the Shaq trade) have always been looking to save money. Diaw's contract is kind of long, and expensive I guess even though I think he is worth it. So, do you think he will be traded any time soon, and how much do you think they would ask for him? Maybe something like Malik Rose's expiring contract, David Lee, Nate Robinson and Balkman/Chandler?

Holy Crap if we could get Lee for Diaw AND Rose's expiring I'd have a stroke...let alone get Balkman or Chandler...

HATE Nate though.

I high fived Diaw and Marion at a Sun Devils home game from the front row of the student section this past season. Steve Nash also made an appearance through the student section at one of the games, pretty ballsy move to walk through a drunken mob ;) And one more siting was at the ASU vs UCLA basketball game, Shaq was on some floor seats and Majerle was about 20 feet to my left. People were going up to get pictures and autographs, so I just left him alone. If I was retired and just did announcing I wouldn't want a bunch of attention.
