Iavaroni done in Memphis?

Several NBA sources say that the Grizzlies want Brown to succeed Iavaroni, who has struggled in his first season as an NBA head coach and has come under criticism for failing to effectively communicate with players. The Grizzlies are in last place in the Southwest Division. Memphis would be Brown's ninth NBA coaching stop since 1976.

If they let MI go, we should bring him back. It is sad that MI had to go through this. It must have been tough to go through the season he had to go through. Hopefully he learned to grow as a coach and he can bring this new experience back to the Suns. I don't want to say that Memphis is a bad team, but it was not the most ideal situation for him. I just hope that BC doesn't try to snatch him first if this is true.
From Memphis' standpoint, I don't think this is a good idea. This would make something like 4 coaches in 3 seasons. That is not good for a team. There is no way you can develop success without sticking with a coach and a system. Also, this rumor must piss Darko off.
What do you all think?

i would DEFINATELY bring him back, especially as we have shaq now, with amare at PF and amare likely to be at PF when shaq retires with us getting another big
he is the best big man coach in the NBA, i would take him back in a heartbeat

If that is true then the Grizzly organization is a complete joke. They hire him to rebuild the team then gut the roster. And he is supposed to win with that group. Pathetic. I doubt he would come back. Hopefully I am wrong.

I'd bring him back too. Especially if he's open to actually playing his bench and devloping players in addition to focusing on winning a title. That comment by Dantoni saying they're not into developing players was weak and short sighted. If he keeps this up we'll be horrendous in 2 years when Nash, Shaq etc...hang it up.
I'm in your corner Ivaroni. Sorry guys I just hate the 7 1/2 player philosophy.

What a waste of space this organization is in the NBA. They helped a serious conference rival while in the process of a selfish and pathetic tank job and then they want to fire their coach?

If Griz trade for KG and Allen then Iavaroni will be the toast of the town next year.

Who would not want him back? He worked with our bigs! now we have a bunch of SG as a coaching staff.
The ownership group in memphis is a joke to all. I alwaysed thought MI should have waited for a better job to open up. I know that is easy to say, but they have been trying to trade gasol since last year.

Why would Larry Brown want to coach the Grizzlies? Brown likes playing veterans but that team is very young and inexperienced.
It's an absolute joke how little they got for a star like Gasol, they knew they weren't going to compete in the West anyway so they couldn't care less about upseting the balance of the West.

Bring him back! We love his white boards! They are the most detailed in the league!
Plus, he's a workaholic that won't mind working overtime to prepare the players for a game!
BRING HIM BACK (subject to availability) !!!

If I were a team needing a coach, ie Bulls, I would get him in a heart beat. That being said if he does get fired, I think he will go back to being an assistant. Seeing as how he has kids in school in Phoenix, I would presume he would return. However, does he regain his role as "lead assistant." Does Jay Humphries stay then?

this has to be a joke....seriously
1.) this is Ivaroni's first season as head coach on a team that is rebuilding. he wasnt brought in to win, he was brought in to develop the young kids on the team.
2.) Larry Freaking Brown? are you kidding me? this guy has to be the least patient coach in the league when it comes to playing youth. he REFUSES to do so. how the hell would bringing him in do ANYTHING for the franchise.
i could keep going on about Brown, but i wont. he's a filthy weasel IMO.

Yeah I agree, I can't see anyone not wanting him back. If he was let go I could see ATL or MIL making a run at him
If we got him I could see the front office grabbing a big with that draft pick and getting Iavaroni to work with him like Weber worked with Diaw...

Apparently the Grizzly players don't like him?
Oh well. I wouldn't mind having him back.
