SchizoSuns

Loving this, the team is winning via the fast paced offense or a dragged down set-up.. That said, please welcome be to your board--- i am a long time Nash fan (Big on pass first points actually, but Jason Williams is number one in MY biased book ;) and has been following the Suns in the West since Stevee arrived here. (Obviously i cheer for Miami in the East, which isn't much this season)

i really believed that Nash with Dallas would have notched him a championship--- but that's all water under the bridge now--- but now that he's with Phoenix, i still hope he gets that much coveted ring (JWill>Nash, because of the ring :D)

i believed that the Shaq move was needed and was not one of the many doubters. i won't say that Phoenix has it locked up because the West is so so tough, but i like the Suns chances.

And oh, schizosuns--- the term is a positive as much as a negative, here's hoping the Suns adapt the right persona against different teams in the playoffs.

Go Stevee and Go Suns.

What I like about this team is that when the game slows down, or the Suns go cold, you can always go inside with Amare and Shaq. With Matrix before we could not do that.

This team has a much better chance in the playoffs than before. Let's hope Grant Hill gets better and helps us out big time in the playoffs. :)

ha ha ... that's what I thought this thread was about. Our split-personality on the court.

Still remember you from the PHX Vs Mem series all that time ago so good to have you around more regularly.

Yeah, still remember that series, in one of those games Jason quite played Stevee nicely though we (MEM) got swept.

On the topic of being SchizoSuns here's what i thought what Phoenix should look like against various possible match-ups in the West playoffs;

vs. Los Angeles Lakers - Use Shaq to Abuse Their Big Men. This is one team which the Suns can really use their run and gun style as in the past series against LAL, but with Shaq around and with their pair of potent bigmen, i think it is vital that O'Neal establishes his force (And draw some early fouls) just so simply to discourage and demoralize their rather soft (Pau) and rather young (Bynum) frontcourt.

vs. New Orleans Hornets - Iffy on the Paul match-up as Steve is not the greatest of defenders, a bad one especially against CP3. That said, i think it's vital that Nash becomes more of a scorer against this team so as to put pressure on Chris Paul. There is really nothing you can do about it, you can't put Raja on him because then Nash will have to switch to a Bonzi or Peja type--- just too much of a major mismatch.

So which persona should the Suns be against the Hornets? A little running just to tire them out (not easy) but make sure Shaq and Amare attacks their big men as well.

Other teams to follow..

After tonights scoring display of Nash, I was just think about that situation against Chris Paul.. Nash has to outplay Paul in that series.

^ Word. He will not stop him individually no matter what--- with help or no help but Steve has to make him work as well.

Quick query: If the Suns meet SA again, how would you play them?

the same way we did recently

dont double duncan, let shaq handle him (duncans highest score vs shaq in t he last 4 years is 17 points)

get the hell out on all of their shooters and just try to outdo them on the hustle plays

without doubling duncan we should be able to stay ontop of parker and manu

I don't think Nash has to outplay Paul nor do I think he can. Paul is now the best PG in the league and likely will be for the next 10 years.

We just need to rebound the ball and play good defense. The rest of our team is superior to the Hornets. If Shaq and Amare can get their bigs in foul trouble, we're golden.

BTW, I think this is a series where we would need to play Diaw more than Hill. Peja can shoot all day over Hill. Diaw is a little bigger and can challenge his shot.

nash didnt become the best till he was 30, the fact that paul is now is scary.... he could well become one of the best PG's of all time if he keeps this up for 8 years or even scarier..improves!
