I have never liked the Sterns and Tim Duncan crew. They are champions sure but with a *.

Suns win the championship this year.

I would love to see a Suns/Spurs match-up in the first round. Two power houses taking it to eachother for 7 games. So sick.

I am saddened at those videos... Marion deserved a ring.

When we win this year he will get one if only by proxy. But yeah maybe he will realize that this is a great team.

I didnt realise it was that bad last year, i wasnt able to pay that much attention to last yeras playoffs but heard all the refs screwed us and what not but thought meh thats what we all say when we lose but my god that was horrible.

I would love to have a crack at knocking off the spurs in round 1

The funny thing is Spurs fans get angry when people mention the all the bad calls and the stupid suspensions that ALL went in thier favour

I  when i saw couple of threads this year on Spurs forums compalining how Stren hates the Spurs after Bowen got suspended for 1 game for kicking CP3

I hope the Suns get the Spurs in the first round and knock them out. That would be payback

i have a feeling that stern want to see lakers vs suns so expect to have some calls in favor of suns if they meet again in the playoffs...

but then again, its still the spurs who are proven with the love of stern...

Lakers Vs Sun? for ratings?

i dont think it matters that much this season. The west PO's will get good rating cos every1 is good and have a chance. Most series will go the distance

not to be harsh or anything, but chances are the Celtics will win the ring this year, I'm a Spurs fan, but the West is way too competitive.. Let's say the Suns/Spurs play in the first round, 7 game series, next up, the Lakers, if you pass that, then Utah.. all 7 game series.. While Boston sweeps the first round, gets extra rest, beats the Cavs in 5, then a 7 game series with Detroit... The West is simply ridiculous to win it this year.

Whats the chances of us meeting the Lakers in the 1st round? I really had my heart set on that, and the Spurs are my next favorite matchup but there is nothing sweeter than beating LA in the first round.

I don't know about two most famous teams. I think when you talk about famous, Chicago Bulls is the most famous team of all time. People who don't know basketball still knows what sport the Chicago Bulls play. People who don't know basketball will even think Jordan still plays for Chicago.

Other than that, I think Kobe is known all over the league and the Lakers are famous because of Kobe and their past history.

Houston has to be up there too simply because of Yao Ming. The Chinese probably tops the amount of every other country COMBINED.

Kobe has nothing to do with how famous the Lakers are. Everybody has heard of the "Laker Girls" and Magic Johnson is the all-time pioneer of LA. After that you'd say Kareem and Shaq would have made LA as big as it is. Kobe hasn't been the center of attention when LA has been Champions, it was always Shaq.

This team will have its hands full with any draw.

It is vital for Diaw and Barbo to play good, Stat to stay out of foul trouble, and Bell has to knock down his open threes + Nash Hill and Shaq play consistent BBall. As mentioned elsewhere by the 'kot' and kj...this team just doesn't look like they are ready for a champ run. They night and day too much.

That said...bring it on...we are here and that is what they play 82 games for.

PS
Since I have limited international exposure...I cannot comment on 'who is more popular' abroad... But if the intnl participation on this board is any indication...I'd say the Suns have a pretty good world mix of fans. Basketball is so much more accessible to the fan now. A few of you elders may remember the pre-cable day where every weekend either Boston, LA, or Dr J and his Sixers were on. Cable helped promote Jordan...and then once the NBA heads and Stern realized they could pimp out MJ and make him synonymous w/ the league.... he blew the top off it.
