As much as I hate to say this I do believe Steve Nash is now a major liability on the court.
If you watch him play this year he really can not guard any top point guard. Tony Parker, CP3.

And I do believe he leads the league in turnovers. I know he leads the league in dribbling per game but thats another story.

Nash just has lost a step defensively if he ever had one and forces alot because he is too unselfish.

2 Ideas either Trade him for as much value as possible or

Move him to off guard to be a Spot shooter 3 point dagger shooter like Steve Kerr or Curry was.

You may all disagree but he has lost his creativity of setting up the Suns on everyplay with this new lineup.

I have to agree, also when he is set up against an offensive PG (parker)his lack of D causes mismatches and allows the other team to get off easy shots. I also agree that his creativity isnt what it used to be he had like what 0 assists in tonights game? wow.

How does a trade for Baron Davis sound right about now?

now before you jump on me, hear me out... We are going to need a more aggressive PG who can penetrate like Parker. Baron Davis would not only provide that but he is an excellent defender and shooter. He is a guy that can get to the line and has proven he can be clutch in the playoffs (last year against Dallas).

It would also make sense, as Nellie and Davis don't seem to be getting along, so we swap PG with them. Now all of a sudden Nash and Nellie are re-united and still he gets to play in an uptempo system and Davis gets to now contend for a title. This would also broaden the window for the championship a little more, because if it doesn't work out with Davis his contract expires so we can throw a Max offer at CP3.

First of all, Paul isn't going ANYWHERE, he's a once every 10 years point guard who is the epitome of what you look for in a young player, let alone a Superstar who can often let it go to his head - he hasn't.

^I'm all for Davis too, really think he'd help us a lot - but that's AFTER Nash...he still has a year or two at the helm and I'm 99% comfortable with that - we just need a strong backup for him

I'd like to use Nash much the way the Spurs use Barry... BUT really isn't any accomplished PG we can acquire to replace Nash with.

Ive been watching this board for years, and Ive enjoyed reading everyones input, but never really bothered to post or reply to anything, but I had to when people start bashing on Nash, I agree with TASTIC, Nash still has a year or two, give the man some respect, were talking about the 2 time MVP here.

^That'd be awesome, for sure. But he's still good to go for 30mins, but NOT at the 2. Use him as the primary backup when we've found someone who can start ahead of him.

Why not look at Ridnour and hope he learns from Nash and develops his shot to become what he should be, a 13-7 guy

You could almost use DJ to guard the best point guards on Defense and use Nash on offense.

Nah that would be too easy nobody would think of that. Or use Marion or Diaw to guard the point guards...oh no we will just try and get by on our weaknesses.

The blame goes on Sarver/Kerr, but if U wanna get at 1 of our players no way in hell shud it be Nash.

Nash isn't the MVP candidate he used to be, but he's still a top 3 PG in the NBA. He's still playin well worth his contract.

Hill fu*ked up with the horrible timing on his injury, but he still played worth his contract.

Raja did a'ite, def played worth his contract.

Amare was disapointing, but he's the face of our franchise now and I don't wanna see him go unless we get a real beast in return for obvious reasons

Barbs sucked, but he always does vs the Spurs and his contract is fine. Won't be surprised if he sucks it up and goes back into 6MOY mode next year.

Nobody wuda thunk it in November, but Boris Diaw was our best player in the series and BY FAR our man with the biggest pair of nuts on the court!!!

U wanna get at 1 of the players on this team get at fuggin SHAQ.
He killed us in this series with his HORRIBLE free throw shooting, and teh suck PnR defense.
No way in hell did he do anything on offense that justfies a 20 MIL PER contract either.

If everybody knows there roll and the Suns play smarter like the Spurs the Suns will be fine next year.
Get a decent bench and a back up point guard and the Suns maybe there next year.
Shaq played fine, Boris played good in 2 games.

I hope Shaq practices hard this offseason for his last two years. If he somehow improves his game again he will be regarded as a legend.

I dunno how realistic this is or how popular it will be on these boards but I think you guys should trade Steve Nash... You guys are stuck with Shaq for the next 2 years.. but you can at least start trying to build towards the future... Nash isnt going to get any better and he can get you the most value in return...

I was thinking maybe something like:

Nash for Ford, Bargnani, and a first rounder

(maybe substitute Moon for Bargnani?)

Ford will obviously be your PG for the future. Bargnani still has potential and is still on his rookie contract so if worse comes to worse you can just let him walk, first rounder would replace the pick going to Seattle... Nash would obviously be welcomed in Canada and could mentor Calderon.... Then you could add another piece when Shaq comes off the books

I dunno I was just thinking about what I would do next if I was Kerr... Maybe I'm crazy

Nash was horrible in this series and has become extremely turnover prone...trade him? Maybe, depends what is offered.

I can see it happening now with the D'Antoni situation.

Shaq got MURDERED off the pick n roll all series long and killed us with his piss poor FT shooting, and he gets payed 20 mil per for that!

Anybody who knows anything whatsoever bout b-ball knows Shaq killed us in this series and played nowhere near worth his contract.

It's not about each players contract the Suns lost for Various reasons.
Shaq has to guard Duncan because Amare is not smart enough to without fouling out by halftime.
Nash can't guard Parker and Nobody is smart enough to fill the lane when Shaq comes up on the pick n roll ....Amare again.
Nash and Amare turned the ball over way too much...
I don't think Shaq was the problem...
Amare is so poor on Defense that Nash trys to make up for it and he ends up looking bad, just like Shaq ends up looking bad trying to cover for Amare being so bad on Defense trying to play out of postion.
Amare should of been guarding Duncan the whole series but he can't because he is not smart enough yet to stay in the game.
