Do you think he excercises his contract option for next season?

He seems like a real gentleman and a man of his word, so yes I think he will be back.

I agree...he'll be back.

I love G-Hill. When he's healthy, his game is a big asset, and he's just an all-around great human being.
But given the potential direction of this team, his age, and his injury history, do we want him back in purple and orange?

Yah we want him back why the heck would we not want him back for such a small contract?

Any player that Mike D will play...needs to stay on the team. We need to add to that rotation list, not subtract from it.

He said he wants to come back and this is his last stop.

My favorite player of all time is Grant Hill, but I wouldn't rely on his comments. I'm not saying he's a liar by any means, but things can change rather quickly in NBA world.
He said to Orlando media that at the end of the last year's season, he would either resign with us for cheap or retire. But I'm sure you heard that story before from one of us Magic fans.
I hope he does return for you guys and goes out on as good a note as he can. He's a great person as well as a great player.

I don't see why he wouldn't return. Phoenix is likely to make a deep playoff run so long as they don't hit the Spurs again and why would he turn down a million dollars? He can come aboard in whatever role desires, be it as a starter or as a reserve behind Diaw, right?
It's win-win for him to return.

This is really a non-issue.
He is going to take one more shot at a title.
He'll be back.

If he wants to win a championship, he should come be Prince's backup for 15-18 MPG next season... and retire a Piston.
If he plays a year or two as a solid backup there and helps Detroit win a championship perhaps its still not too late for him to have his Jersey hanging in the Rafters... and have a "basketball home" once he's retired.

What, the Lakers all die in a plane crash suddenly?

If he wants to win a playoff series....
Better?

And who the hell would want to make their basketball home in Detroit after spending time in Orlando and Phoenix. I'm sure Detroit is a distant 3rd in those rankings.

^ I'd rather see the franchise move to Mobile, Alabama than watch them turn into the 2nd coming of the Knicks. Our salary would be screwed up even worse afterwards than it is right now, not to mention we'd trade our best defender in Bell (plus some other valuable pieces) for a guy who plays close to no defense at all.
Don't get me wrong, I like Redd, but he's definitely not a good fit on this team, especially with Raja gone. We'd be even worse defensively afterwards than we are right now, and that's not a good thing at all.
P.S.: Pretty sure you'd get a lot more replies to this proposal if you'd post it in our Offseason Thread:

Losing Hill really hurt us against the Spurs, even when he was playing he wasn't at his best.
If he was healthy I assure you we would have had a better chance versus the Spurs.
