Just wanted to stop by your forums and say that Steve Kerr is the worst GM in the NBA. The Shaq for Marion trade was worse then the Gasol trade which is one of the biggest steals in the NBA. I don't hate Shaq and he is one of the most dominate players to ever play in the NBA. But he is at the end of his career and his contract way to big to have him.

Marion was the heart of the Suns and the key piece that made them go. I doubt any team would of took on Shaq for free yet alone give up Marion for him. The Shaq trade ended the Suns chances of ever winning a championship.

The Suns were robbed a NBA championship from Stern last season, and if it ain't broke you don't fix it. Also Kerr traded Kurt Thomas and what was it two late 1st round picks just to unload his contract and then the Spurs gave a 1st round for Kurt. Talk about a bad GM.

D'Antoni is a great coach and one of the few unique coaches in the NBA. Maybe no Suns fans agree with me but Im trying to say I feel sorry for your team and Kerr ruining what was one of the best teams to watch in the NBA. Hurts Sun fans and any fan of the NBA that likes watching great teams. Suns are now at the bottom of teams I would wan't to watch.

suns had to make the trade, they werent gonna get past a full strength lakers team without getting bigger

Hey SDU, a lot of us were saying this stuff about the Shaq trade when it happened, and we turned out to be exactly right. Now it's armchair GMing? Whatever.

We were a few mistakes away from being up 3-2 and playing at home for game 6. How did the trade ruin the team? Do you think the team had a better chance with Marion in the playoffs?

SDU's point is the guy doesn't know what he's talking about because it isn't SHAQ that killed us anyway. And to say so is just drive by trolling.

Kerr didn't ruin the team....your owner did by being cheap and allowing valuable assets to walk or be traded. The Suns were the best team in the NBA last year and would have won a title had they nt been robbed by the NBA Commissioner...for narrwoly interpreting a rule they chose to ignore this year in the HAWKS/CELTICS series.

I was really looking forward to a Lakers/Suns matchup in the playoffs.

I hate to say it, but yes....for one Parker/Genob' would not have hurt you the way they did.

We shut down Genob in Game 5, and Paker killed us last year too and guess what... we had Marion!

Give us him for the series and get back to me.

Kerr can't be blamed when we have a contributing starter go down for the most important series in the playoffs.

Parker leads the league in points in the paint. And he's a point guard! So he does that on a nightly basis against every team in the league, including previous years while Marion was on the team. Shaq did what he was brought in to do. He improved the rebounding. He played good D on Duncan. (That majority of TD's points either came from 20ft. out which most teams would let him shoot anyway or when Shaq left him to cover Parker on the PNR.) Phoenix was a crappy team defensively for years. To bring in Shaq for 2 months and then blame him for a problem that has been there for years is borderline (Please Use More Appropriate Word). With a healthy Hill OR just a couple of stupid mistakes not being made, we would have put them out 4-2. So I'm actually pretty positive. When we have Shaq for the whole year, I'm sure we'll play a lot better together and eliminate the stupid communication errors. I'm already excited about next season.

Any GM that relies on Hill's health for his playoff hopes is an idiot. Like Shaq's inability to knock down FTs and defend the pick'n'roll, Grant Hill's inability to stay healthy was a given.

That's BS. The defensive job Marion did on Parker last year gets severely underated nowdays.

Last year with Marion covering him T. Parker averaged 21 pts on only 45% FG shooting (he usually averages around 50%).

This year with no Marion on him Parker averaged 30 pts on 52 FG%.

The Shaq trade was a desperate move by a desperate team. In hindsight, it was bad financially, but many felt (myself included) it gave us the best chance to win. In retrospect, we should have kept Shawn and exited in the first round with him and had options in the offseason.

Now, we pretty much are stuck with Nash, Amare, Bell, Shaq and Diaw for the next two seasons. The only movable assets are Barbosa and the #15 pick.

No need to be dense.

Hill has played more games for us than he has in seven years prior. The groin injury is a result of us having him guard guys like Parker during the end of the regular season.

Go watch our three reg. season wins over the Spurs. Tell me Hill wasn't dominant.

What a joke. A lot easier to say that, hindsight being what it is and all. He was a starter. Anytime a starter goes down it sucks (except for Arenas...). Again, not Kerr's fault.

Oh and Shaq? Ya he did what we needed him to do. End of story.

i still say the shaq trade was the right move, i completely understand why kerr made it and give him credit for having the balls to do so

obviously, the suns have reached a pinnacle and are starting their decent. so let's see how kerr handles this....the team will have to be rebuilt relatively soon but i think they do make one more go of it.

I agree. He's getting blasted right now because we just lost. But, he's not the major reason why we lost. We had a list of issues before the trade that all needed to be taken care of and after the trade only a few in reality were. Shaq did what he was brought in to do. And if we can make a few tactical changes and pick up a few pieces in the offseason, we are still going to be contenders.
