There IS no chance of it coming back. Not with Kerr.

Even if we did take on a new coach and a new philosophy, I don't think it will completely disappear. You know that Dant's O strats are now in our core's blood. They won't have to think about what to do off fast breaks or PnR's. The flash won't really be there, maybe not so many alley-oops and such, but they Suns will still be able to move the ball the well. Hopefully they can lock down their ball handling (no TO's) and their half court defense. Focusing on defenisive assignments, noticing mismatches, and swithing off of screens now need to be drilled into thier muscle memories.

This of couse assuming DA goes (which I don't want, personally) as well as no major trades during the off season. I've seen people talkin about trading Nash and I think it's blasphemy (sp?). He's given us so much, it would be extrememly selfish to try to trade him unless we are sending him to a top 3 contender for a title (which also wouldn't even make that much sense since he has said winning a chip won't make him feel any more accomplished than where he is right now).

EDIT: In a perfect world we would be able to get a young PG and C so that Nash and Shaq can mentor them for the next two years. Not to mention, they get ample playing time to make mistakes and get some experience using tips Nash/Shaq give 'em. GHill would also play a huge role in mentoring young players on bball IQ, hustle D, and keeping their cool. I mean, dude got his second sportsmanship award this year (only player to do that).

Exactly what I thought...

Our beautiful experiment was a success. But it was screwed up by three things:

1. The NBA FO who was too chickens**t to do something about flopping
2. The NBA FO being too narrow-minded to realize that they, as fallible beings cannot make infallible rules,
3. And our own FO not recognizing that we had taken some bad breaks but that it was working.

BUt I have a fair amount of confidence Phoenix will still be the home of pass-first point guards, scoring, and winning. The thing is that the 'pure' basketball that I love is now going to be tempered to deal with flopping, no-calls, and so on.

Which is a shame.

Its definitely a bit sad to see the runnin and gunnin Suns be put to retirement.

But I think it all began when the Suns traded Marion, to get bigger. I think, Kerr, with D'Antonit's permission or no, wanted a more balanced attack, and since the Suns got eliminated in embarrassing fashion, he was very adamant about it and simply, D'Antoni thought he cannot stay anymore.

But Suns weren't going anywhere I think anyways, its a long shot. Ever since last season, which was the Suns best chance. They had the correct lineup, but was unfortunate.


I think, the Suns can contend as soon as the contracts of O'Neal and Nash expire. Maybe sign Nash for cheaper, but he will most likely want an extension in the range of 15 million. I hope he signs for half of that and help the Suns sign younger players.


Barbosa should be traded for a rookie or a sophomore player with potential.

If Stoudemire can net the Suns 2 semi-stars and a pick, I think it'll be worth it.

^I think if we could get Wallace and Felton for Amare then I'd be EXTREMELY tempted...he's gone from the West, we get Marion (essentially) and we get the PG to replace Nash. CHA can use their pick on a PG like Westbrook

The season Amare was hurt was the most enjoyable time of my life in terms of watching sports... I absolutely loved that team with Steve, Marion, Raja, Boris, Leandro, they were amazing... If Raja hadn't gotten hurt against Dallas who knows what might've been...

This is a sad time for Suns fans... No doubt about it.

suns have one more shot next season only if the team will focus on defense...... which they will i believe...
