Pho - Char Trade

Just came over to see if you guys would be at all interested in this proposition. No trolling, just a friendly inquiry. I know you need a young athletic SF with Grant Hill being retirement age and Diaw is a good back up but not what you need as a starter.

Would you trade Barbosa and #15 for Gerald Wallace? You would have to add another body to make the $ work, your pick. Would Char have to add #38 to the deal? Crash gives you a very athletic SF who can run floor the way Phoenix likes to run, play solid Defense, and he comes at a very good salary. Barbosa can play SG for us and allow us to move J-Rich to SF where he should be playing. Char then has #9 and #15 to fill it's PF needs.

Char would hate to part with Crash, but we are have a lot more work to do on our end than Phoenix. You have a quality team that needs just one more big time player to get you over the top.

Is this reasonable? I'll stop by later to check and see what you guys think of the idea.

it would be a good trade if Barbs and Wallzce had similar contracts but this would add too much salary to the Suns roster, unless you take Diaw instead.

ABSOLUTELY!

The deal would not work for Diaw. Diaw does not give us what we would need the way Barbosa does. And the trade would not be nearly as fair to the Bobcats. But, I think you know that.

I assume you are saying absolutely to the Barbosa part, and not the Diaw part. I really do think it works well for both sides. Like I mentioned, you need to throw in a filler to make the $ work right. That would not be an impediment to any deal if the main part of the deal is agreeable.

Some on the Bobcat Boards feel that making the trade would cost us too much loss of Defense as Crash is much better on D than Barbosa. But, you have to give to get. Anyway, I'd be interested to see the comments of some of the other Suns fans and will check back later.

I'm guessing that in terms of what youth PHX has, PHX would ask for the 38 back. That probably wouldn't fly with CHA

Nash/Strawberry
Bell/Tucker
Wallace/Hill
Amare/Diaw
Shaq/#38, #49

That would be an interesting lineup for CHA too

Felton/Boykins?
Barbosa/Carrol
Richardson/Dudley/Morrison
#9(Darrel Arthur?)/Nazr Mohammed
Okafor/#15(JaVale McGee)?/Ryan Hollins

Sorry, I don't really know CHA's rotation

If it were up to me, I would swap our 2nds and you have #38 and we take #49. If that is what it took to consumate the deal. But I think just adding #38 would be a tough sell in Charlotte.

Is the sky blue?... during summer days...

Is the pacific ocean bigger than lake michigan?

That would be a "gift" to the Suns from MJ, if that ever happens... even if Wallace misses every 5th game, he'd still make this Suns win the rest.

Its like having a slightly lesser Marion AND O'Neal with Stoudemire at the "4".

Thats whats missing really.... when the Suns had Marion, not big enough... without Marion... not quick nor athletic enough. (Hill has been great but just that his body breaks down, as evident this past playoff series)

C: O'Neal
PF: Stoudemire
SF: Wallace
SG: Bell
PG: Nash

The perimeter gets its missing "tough" defender back, which disappeared when Marion was traded, but now theres a wall inside the paint and a roaming Stoudemire, would be tough matchup.

I still like Morrison's potential.... especially within a system like the Suns.

Barbosa for 9th and Morrison and future pick would still be attractive to me.

Agreed. And PHX would be willing to swap the 2nd rounders.

I'm still not sure why CHA would do this though....this seems like a dream deal for PHX

Skill sets of Crash and J-Rich are similar. Need a change, and Barbosa is a good fit for Charlotte. The pick allows Charl to grab some quality which Larry Brown wants to mold into the team he wants.

Good talking with you guys! Best of luck this season and in your hunt for a Coach. Since the deal sounds like it can work, have your GM call our GM. They can do lunch and close the deal!

IMO that's overspending from CHA's side...Barbosa is nice and all, good contract, good attitude etc, but Wallace here would be SWEET, at half the price of Marion.

I'd try and get Dudley somehow, whether through throwing in Tucker in or #49

You wont be able to get Dudley from the Bobcats. They love his motor, intensity and he does have good BBIQ.

I like Wallace and his game. His shooting is becoming better. I would do it because it would make us better. One thing that worries me, especially with this trade is that we lose another 3 pt shooter. IMO, I think we need another 3 pt threat to make Nash better, and same with Amare and Shaq to space out the game.

Hard to pass on this one tho.

The main problem with this is that we have no "filler" that can make up the salary differences...

if we do this trade than we trade away the last piece of our high paced offense, and are ready to turn to set plays.

half court offense, strong defense, if this is the way the new coach wants to play, than i
