As you all know, the Suns FO has been very active, and one team's name that has come up constantly that we seem to be dealing with is the Portland Trailblazers. I thought of a better deal than what the WireTap had to offer, please post your thoughts:

Suns Trade:
Part of Kurt Thomas Trade Exception (4 Million to be exact)
Leandro Barbosa
Future Second Round Pick

Suns Acquire:
Travis Outlaw (for the TPE)
Steve Blake
#13 Pick
Cash Considerations (500k)

It doesnt work in the ESPN trade checker, but the checker doesnt take into effect the cash considerations. If KP is really that interested in barbosa, then 500k wouldnt be that bad of a sacrifice. (they would have to make 500k in cash to make the deal work for both sides.)

That gives us our starting SF/backup PF for years and a servicable PG.
We also nab the 13th pick, which allows us to pick Rush or Greene AT 13, and then McGee or Speights @ 15. That makes us:

Nash/Blake/Strawberry
Bell/Rush/Tucker
Hill/Outlaw/Tucker
Stoudemire/Diaw/Outlaw
Shaq/Skinner/McGee

This means we can get rid of Diaw/Strawberry/Tucker with our 2nd rounder for some better pieces
(IE, a REAL PF, and a better SG/SF. id like to deal with memphis for Hakim Warrick/Mike Miller )

Doesn't that seem like a lofty price for Barbosa?

um not really. they need to get rid of either Webster / Travis to clear their over-loaded SF/SG problems. and barbosa-steve blake is basically the deal and for doing that they give us travis for our TPE. seems fair to me :O but id be happy if they substituted JACK and WEBSTER for these two and we took out our TPE..

No way in hell you're getting that much for Barbosa.

A lot of fans view Outlaw > Webster, and if we hate the original deal with Martell, what make you think we will make this one?

Edit: I didn't even see Blake. Our only pgs are Jack, Sergio, and Koponen? Are you freakin kidding me?! We're trying to get better with a deal, man, and there is no necessity for Portland to make a deal just for the sake of change.

Ya, besides the fact that this deal is impossible, the Blazers wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot poll.

would be nice to have this athletic sf with freaking long arms run our defense.
