using knowledge of recent reports from the team you follow most closely, please form an educated guess as to whom your team will select and why.
this is not about who you want your team to draft, but who you think they want to draft given the situation below.
after posting this thread in every board leading up to yours, i've got this Draft Board:
1. Chicago - Rose
2. Miami - Beasely
3. Minnesota - Mayo
4. Seattle - Bayless
5. Memphis - Love
6. New York - Westbrook
7. LA Clippers - Gordon
8. Milwaukee - B.Lopez
9. Charlotte - Randolph
10. New Jersey - Gallinari
11. Indiana - Augustin
12. Sacramento - Arthur
13. Portland - Alexander
14. Golden State - Rush
15. Phoenix - ??
i'm very interested to read your responses! you're on the clock!
don't forget to provide a reason why you think your teams management will draft player x given the situation above. please don't just post a name of a player, those are usually ignored for a more intelligent / in depth reply.

at this point i think deandre jordan, lopez and hibbert appeal most talent wise, but due to the suns being shored up at their positions, and needing a wing or PG
my cynnical side says the suns take batum, hoping that his french mate diaw can help him integrate to the NBA system, but also perhaps hoping he stays in france for another year saving us $$
if the draft happens as predicted, my money is on mario chalmers or batum being the suns choice
personally, i would want jordan but dont see the suns going that way

interesting. so you don't think the team wants to take a 4/5 at all?
chalmers makes sense for you guys, however i don't see batum going in the first round anymore after he's cancelled all remaining workouts due to a heart condition. id be surprised if a team offered him a guaranteed contract after that, especially so high (15) in the draft.

If there aren't any trades or any trades that will be consumated after 1 July (Due to BYC, S&T, etc) and the draft goes like that, I'd assume the Suns would go big with Robin Lopez (unless they have confirmed that Skinner is going to re-sign). If Skinner does re-sign then maybe Chalmers is the guy.

oh wow, i didnt hear that about batum, yes you can definately cross him off the list
i would say then, chalmers would be the guy the suns would go for in that instance then. The ghosts of sergio rodriguez and rajon rondo still haunt us, and i think the suns wont pass on a backup to nash this time (providing we dont obtain one in trade)
I think chalmers is the safe pick and im sure the suns will be extremely tempted by lopez and jordan, jordan especially, but at this point we have more of a need for a PG

i think i would disagree because i believe the 2nd choice after RUSH is Greene. Although you guys arent considering the fact that the Portland trade that may happen is going to land us the 13th, which means we get Rush at 13th and maybe go Robin Lopez, JaValee McGee, or Speights at 15 because it would mean we landed Jarret Jack. So as it is, i say Greene or Chalmers, but if we get portlands pick, then we go Rush at 13 and Lopze at 15. (y)

-Nicolas Batum will go a series of tests at one of the top Cardiological hospitals in the world in Cleveland, Ohio on Monday, his agent Bouna Ndiaye told DraftExpress this weekend. Batum has stopped conducting private workouts for the time being after tests in Toronto and New Jersey revealed potential reasons for concern possibly hinting at heart problems. Ndiaye is concerned with the fact that teams are jumping to conclusions about this being a heredity issue (which would make it much more serious) and is working on disproving the notion that Batum’s father died of a heart attack. He believes that after Monday he will be able to show teams that Batum is in good health and that he will be able to conduct workouts immediately after.
- DraftExpress
33. Portland Trail Blazers (via Memphis)
Nicolas Batum | SF | France The Blazers will try to find a way to move up and get longtime Kevin Pritchard favorite Ante Tomic. But if they can't, they'll do backflips over Batum's slip into the second round. Concerns about the health of Batum's heart abound, but in the second round you don't hesitate to pull the trigger. If he's healthy, he'll be yet another great steal for Pritchard.

seems like chalmers and lopez are the top candidates.
chalmers if there is no trade, and lopez if there is. does this sound right?
if so, for the sake of the mock draft (where we dont take trades into consideration) is it safe to say chalmers over lopez?

It's hard to see Alexander and Rush... the two players I like most in this draft for our purposes only one and two picks ahead of #15.
Lopez would make the most sense, but I was never that impressed and I don't think that Kerr or Porter will really fell like being "safe" with the 15th. I like McGee with the pick only because of what that means for the Suns offense when Shaq is out. Amare and McGee would make the quickest frontcourt and I don't think either one would impose to much on the others style of play. I think we look to compliment Amare in the future. We are building around him afterall.
I think, with the way that this "mock" has shaped up that the Suns take a C none-the-less. They will all still be on the board and we always seem to have intended the #15 to use in drafting a big, per our workouts.

Or Donte Green.
Chalmers... Just doesn't feel right. PHX doesn't do a fantastic job of breeding PGs... we trade for them.
Either any Center or, if the SF bug bites Kerr, Green.

I personally think it will be a big reach if they go after chalmers. I personally think they will make a trade, and at this pick, we take a big. Earleir I was leaning towards Jordan and McGee, but as of late, I like the good safe pick with Lopez or Hibbert.
Anyways, since we are going to say nothing happens, I will stand pat with Greene as the Suns pick. I think he has way too much potential to pass up on. I also believe the suns will get a backup pg somehow.

great piece of info. thanks for adding this. of course, this goes against the idea of drafting greene.
the team needs which this board has mentioned are PG, SF, C. taking the best player left at each position (chalmers, greene, lopez)
i wonder who you think management is highest on? as well as who do you think they feel they would get the most value with at #15.

I agree with eastside, Chalmers is a stretch.
Here are the Centers that PHX actually brought in to workout:
Robin Lopez
JaVale McGee
Trent Plaisted
...we brought in 5 PFs to workout.
Of those Cs, I'd say the Suns would pick Lopez.

thing is, i agree with you SS. But, even considering "height can't be taught", there have been TOO MANY busts around that have been picked because of the height rule, so im not big on BIGS anymore. Especially not drafting them. I read a thread on the Raptors board saying would you rather want Etan Thomas or Robin Lopez, and got to thinking, would Robin ever become much better than Etan? Yes, theres always a posibilty, but judging from past drafts, people arent really high on bigs anymore.. I would go with McGee anyday over Lopez, although i wouldnt mind ANYBODY you said (Lopez's defence is terrific for our team, McGee gives what we need on offence, Greene can be our stud SF...) Only questionable thought would be Trent for me.. i dont really think of him highly. Doubt he goes this high in this particular draft mate

i'm gonna have to move on soon if i'm going to finish the first round before the draft.
the common name is lopez with a lot of talk of chalmers and greene. mostly, people are saying that chalmers isn't worth the 15th pick. however, chad ford has him going #12 in his latest mock, and has greene going #25.
so because there is a lot of indecision around those two guys, and lopez is the common belief, i will put you guys down for him unless there are a bunch of people who provide reasons why management would go with someone else... in the next hour or so.

This might have something to do with a certain "private" workout held today...
