Seems like the Nets would like to have some cap relief with them trading away Jefferson now and even listening to a deal from Cleveland about Wally. You guys are championship contenders, I'm surprised their has been no mention regarding Carter.

Why not just trade Raja Bell and Grant Hill for Vince Carter since both (Bell and Hill will expire the year New Jersey wants the salary relief in 2010)?

That would give you a lineup of:

PG Nash/Barbosa/Strawberry
SG Carter/Giricek
SF Diaw/Piatkowski/Tucker
PF Amare/Marks
C Shaq/Skinner

That would change the team to be more a threat both inside-outside.

I'd much rather have Bell and Hill together over Carter.

Phoenix doesn't need more offense; they needs defense, and trading their two best perimeter defenders would be disastrous.

Besides, NJ's not the only team looking to be a player in the 2010 FA market. Right now Shaq/Bell/Nash are all set to expire that season, so there's even less incentive to absorb Vince's massive contract.

If we could do it based around a Barbosa package, than I'd consider it.

Carter makes a crapload of money.

There are only really two trades that could work.

Diaw+Barbosa for Carter... but this wouldn't help out with 2010 capspace.

Vince + Swift(expiring) for Shaq

or

Vince + Van Horn(non guaranteed, would save Sarver a lot of money) for Shaq

I wouldn't even do Raja for VC, but adding in Hill? lol come on.

I'd rather do a Barbosa/Tucker for VC/09Pick trade.

The closest thing to a deal I'd consider would be the Shaq - Carter & Van Horn proposal bstein came up with, and only if the Nets would also add Boone, at least, which of course would be completely awful for them. So, I guess, not much love for the damn traitor, at least not from this Suns fan (and I'm obviously not the only one )

Go over to the Raptors board and see what they think of VC ......

^ You'd be surprised with the reaction, i know i was as a long time Raptors fan. Most of them would like to see him in a raps uniform next season because he does exactly what they need from the wing, get to the rim and FT line and defends SOME gaurds well. I guess they have forgotten abt what he did, but i havent. I dont want him to have anything to do with the Suns or Raptors, especially not at the expense of our best defender in Bell. + thats 100% off capspace wise, so go figure.

The Nets have ZERO point in trading Vince for Raja+Hill.

They traded Kidd for Harris+Diop, then traded away RJ for Jianlian+Simmons.
They're obviously going into rebuild mode, and have absolutely no use in trading for a couple vets. They'll wanna go after draft picks+young players fo sho.

That trade doesn't work since the salaries don't match, but I wudn't mind it going down at all if it were possible.
Vince is one of the most talented players in the league, and dude has a habit of crapping on us.
He'd be dead sick on offense playing next to Nash, and his defense isn't as shabby as advertised either... Not to mention we get less Jurassic

I don't like what VInce did in Toronto but I have always liked the guy. He would be top notch with Nash and Amare. If only he doesn't settle for a 3-pt shot all the time. I would do the Shaq trade to get him that is for sure. Then we could sign KT for the vet min.

NJ gets ton of capspace in 2010 with Shaq's contract.
