Lue has Suns among his top 3 , was scared off by D'Antoni

I found this article pretty interesting:
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... 3suns.htmlTyronn Lue, a 10-year NBA veteran, said Wednesday that the Suns, the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks are his favorites. Boston might not make a big offer, either. Lue finished last season with Dallas, for which he played two minutes during the playoffs.
Lue would start some games with the Suns to rest starter Steve Nash.
"I feel really good about the Suns," Lue said. "I want to go to a winning team and a good organization. They have both those things. I'd love to play with Nash and with Shaq (O'Neal) again. Hopefully we can work something out."
....
Lue considered the Suns in March, when the Sacramento waived him, but chose Dallas.
"I wanted to go to Phoenix, but I knew (former coach Mike) D'Antoni only played seven people in his rotation," Lue said. "With (new coach) Terry Porter there and Nash needing more rest, it'd be a great place for me."
Seems D'Antoni scared off free agents. Glad we have Porter now. Hopefully it will be easier to get free agents now.

I don't think Lue was the missing cog as far as getting us over the hump to be honest...Quite rare that someone who plays 15mins a game will be THAT guy (cough Posey)...and Lue if he was good enough wouldn't be bedhopping round the league in his 'peak' years like some bball-whore - there's a reason he hasn't stuck and the Mavericks - arguably weaker at PG than we were - barely played him (a whopping 2:15 more than I played in the playoffs).
He's ok, but I wouldn't buy into DA being the excuse - hasn't he been thrown under the bus a bit much already? Show some compassion, he has to coach the Knicks now and Duhon is his starting PG...From Nash to Duhon...kinda like trading in Scarlett Johannsen for Rosie O'Donnell

Re-reading what I said, it's not meant to sound so cynical -I'd really like Lue here as a backup, just don't overpay

Wow, this is sad. Does Kerr honestly think we're going to get any better with Lue? I hope he has something better up his sleeve.

I wonder if we can borrow dantoni one last time so he can scare Lue and all these crappy PGs away..
Id much rather have DJ and Tuck develop than have a scrub taking up their minutes.

I'll +1 that as well, but also say that with the developing story invloving Dragic that I hope the Suns are able to acquire him for next season.

I don´t wanna say this too often, but marbury is likely going to get a buyout.
keep youre eyes on this guy. he could be the defensive type of pg we need.
btw. i realy like lue. he could realy run the offense for some games.
we don´t have any other option, ain´t got money, we have nothing to look at star players.
and lue seems to me the best of the rest.

no, i meant marbury. if he get´s here with the right attitude ( and in my oppinion defense is all about the attitude ) he can give us an upgrade on defense. no matter what.
we all should realise that this is marbury´s last chance to prove that he´s the best pg in hte league haha. if he get´s waived and we could sign him at the minimum bring him here...

If he's waived I will bet he is moving to Italy and playing in the euro leagues.

Marbury is allergic to defense.
And to say that we lost FA's because of D'Antoni's short rotation is not telling the whole story, IMO. Players who have a legit shot at getting in his short rotation definitely WANT to play for him(a la Ellis wanting to go to New York).

IMO IF Mike loves players who are playing alot of minutes, and if he don´t like players who´ll never crakc the rotation, or fall out of the rotatin.
i don´t blame mike that some players don´t come to phx.
i blame him for some mad decisions. and i´m happy that we now have a real coach..

"I'm happy that we now have a real coach."
I would have rather my chances with a guy who led one of the biggest turnarounds in NBA history and had four straight 50-win seasons, got to two Western Conference Finals under adverse conditions, and got screwed by a corrupted official in another playoffs.
But hey, maybe we'll do better now that we have "a real coach".

the real coach means a coach that teaches defense.
we saw on our owns that you win games with offense and win championships with defense....
that´s all we learned the last four years..

and this should be the primary reason we pass on lue
in fact, I think we should do nothing in the back up PG department until Drajic's status is determined.
