We aleready have the Better 'Gordan" already here. You want us to trade the better one PLUS Diaw and a pick for the lesser value Gordan? Are you crazy or just plain dumb?

^hey no need for personal insults jlove, it's his first post - take it easy...FAR from the dumbest trade idea we've seen on these boards, surely!?!
I'd rather Diaw, Barbosa, Tucker for Hinrich and Nocioni

Re: this might work
quite frankly i think the opening post deserves the bashing it has gotten
first of all
barbs > gordon
secondly, barbs contract >>>>>>> whatever gordon wants to re-sign for
then you want diaw AND a second round pick?
hmmm, um, no
you want barbs and diaw in chicago then itll have to be a package of either gordon or hihnrich combined with nocioni at least

Re: this might work
after reading your latest thread, i decided to post, even though you have been shot down numerous times already. hopefully, I can shed some light on why your idea WON'T WORK and why it is illconceived at best.
First, do you have any idea of how the cap works and its relation to making a trade? Currently, the Suns are over the cap, and the Bulls (while may look under the cap at $49 Million) are over as well. Why? Unless the Bulls renounce the rights to Gordon and/or Deng their salaries from last season times 1.5 counts against their current capspace, thus negating their ability to match contract offers to the two.
Second, because the Bulls are "technically" over the cap, the salaries must be between 125% of one another. Diaw and Barbs are at $15 Million, therefore Gordon would have to be signed at $12 Million per.
Lastly, Gordon's numbers are good and at glance are better than Barbosa's. Barb's has shot the ball better from the field and taken less shots. Not only does Gordon take more shots, but he gets to the line more times as well. And he turns the ball over more than Barbs, which is one of the weakest aspects of Barbs game. What does this all mean, less touches for guys like Amare, Nash, and Hill. That is what we would be trading away, he is what I would call a ball stopper. Barbs has a tendancy to do the same thing, but Gordon is even worse. For their career's Gordon has a slightly higher Effiency rating, but is that worth giving up on Diaw and swapping your current 6th man for another and over pay them by $6 Million/Yr. Not only that, you are giving up your 7th best player and a future prospect for nothing. The Suns will still be over the cap and unable to bring anyone in. And their future capspace would only be slightly improved.
so to quote the infamous first post, "this might work".....I will take the liberty to complete your run on sentence....."if I had no grasp on reality and or any objectivity".
Better luck, next time!
and to sd1306, for all the grief I have given you over your ideas, I am truly sorry! it is posts like this one that really puts things into perspective.

Re: this might work
I also am just curious where Gordon fits...does he start at the 2 and we shift Bell to the bench? Or does he play Barbosa's role as the backup 1/2 - which I see as redundant as Barbosa plays that role fine as far as scoring...and then we come to Diaw, who though overpaid, is valuable as our sole starter-worthy backup PF/C...and ANOTHER draft pick traded away
I'd rather stick with what we have than get Gordon and have him ask for $9m which is what we got with Diaw

Re: this might work
i would deal Barbs and Diaw to Chicago, but I would want one of Gooden, Nocioni, Deng, Thomas or Noah to accompany either Gordon or Hinrich.
And I wouldn't include any picks.
Barbs is a better value than Gordon contract wise and is similiar as far as production is concerned, therefore IMO is more valuable on the trade market. He also has a better attitude than Gordon, who already turned down a $50 Million Dollar Contract.
Diaw has the best skill set of all the bigs, and has atleast one season under his belt at a higher level than any other player I mentioned above. He should thrive in Chicago without any low post offensive presence.

Re: this might work
and on second thought, I would rather move Barbs for our future starting SF or SG and Gordon is too small to be a starter there.
however, if we are trading for the future, I would rather take Hughes and either Thomas or Noah, and a future 1st Rounder. it will leave us with close to $40 million in cap space to entice another superstar and another fringe All Star to pair with Amare, or 3 fringe All Stars to pair with Amare.
and I think I would rather have Noah over Thomas, it leaves us short of playmakers at the 4, but it leaves us with Lopez and Noah to man the 5 when Shaq retires.
2010 FA's: Redd, Outlaw, SJackson in place of our current Bell, Hill, and Barbosa. Noah in place of Diaw.
Nash(resigned at $7 Mil)/ Dragic($1.5 Mil)
Redd($15 Mil)/ DJ($2 Mil)/ Tucker ($2 Mil)
Outlaw($8 Mil)/ Stephen Jax(MLE $6 Mil)/ 2009 Phx Pick($1.5 Mil)
Amare($17 Mil)/ 2009 Chicago Pick($1.5 Mil)
Noah($3.1 Mil)/ Lopez($1.8 Mil)/ LLE($2 Mil)
Salary:$68.4 Million

Do you know how long Nocioni's contract is, Hoopshype only has him down for one more season and I don't think that is right. I do like Gooden a lot and always have since he was a Jayhawk. I am not sold on Hinrich because of his contract, especially if we really believe Dragic is going to be good.

Re: this might work
Is it really that bad though? The guy is productive, could play some PF for us and is a good 3 point shooter. I think he's paid fair in terms of what he can do, and you can rest assured he will play HARD for his money...he'd bring some much needed toughness
Yeah all I can find is $8m or $8.5m next season...I thought he re-signed for like 5 yrs at $38m or something?

Nocioni is not the problem, it is pairing him in a deal with Hinrich or Gordon, thus leaving us with less cap room in 2010. I would actually like a deal of Hughes(expiring in 2010) and Nocioni/Gooden over all others. It down grades at the 2, but it give us a great hustle player at the 4 or 3. It would work salary wise with the 125% rule. But there is no way Sarver takes on an extra $4 million this year.
I think, Noc and Gooden for Diaw and Barbs is my favorite realistic player swap, especially if the can sign and trade Gordon for a F/C. Leaves us real slim at the 2, if DJ and Tuck don't step it up. But I would roll the dice. Especially if we could bring Finley or House back to provide some outside shooting off the bench.

Re: this might work
Everyone goes on about this 2010...to me, we aren't going to attract a LeBron or Wade, so why sit there with umpteen millions of dollars that aren't going to lure the right player leaving us in a situation like GS this year - you can't seriously tell me they WANTED Maggette for $10m a year? He was a kneejerk reaction in the Marcus Banks mold and though he's a solid player, give me Okafor or JSmith at that money all day
I'd rather have Hinrich in 2010 knowing what we're getting, pairing him with Amare and having Nash at a reduced salary, maybe $6m-$8m unless he's fed up with the stupid FO cocking up his prime year while he bleeds for them and he just ups and leaves
