TI: PHX-MIA-GS - Suns go all out till 2010

PHX: Diaw and Barbosa for Stephen Jackson and Udonis Haslem
MIA: Udonis Haslem and Dequan Cook for Barbosa and Perovic (filler)
GS: Stephen Jackson and Kosta Perovic (filler) for Dequan Cook and Boris Diaw
Why for PHX?
Phoenix has two more years to contend for the championship and Jackson and Haslem's contracts fits it well. Not only the contract but Jackson and Haslem toughness and offensive abilities will help the Suns as well.
Nash / Drajic / Strawberry
Jackson / Bell
Hill / Barnes / Tucker
Stoudamire / Haslem
Shaq / Lopez / Amundson
Why for Miami?
Barbosa aint the best playmaker in town but his shooting and ability to finish the ball in transition will fit that of Wade. If its an open court basketball give the ball to Barbosa. If its a halfcourt offense leave it to Wade. Perovic is a salary filler (expiring).
Barbosa
Wade
Beasley
Marion
Blount
Why for GS?
Diaw and Cook are intruiging prospects for Nellie ball. I think both players fits GS rebuilding program and long-term plan.
Ellis / Williams
Cook / Azubuike
Maggette / Harrington
Diaw / Wright / Randolph
Biedrins / Turiaf
Thoughts?

Sign me up.
The others - mainly GS - pass, due to not surprisingly - Diaw's horrible deal

Suns do this without a seconds hesitation. Huge upgrade in interior and perimeter defense and rebounding without much loss in offense.
Plus after this trade the only non-rookie contact they'll have in the big 2010 FA market is Amare's if he picks up his option.

DONE....can we get this copied to the respective FO's? This may actually be fair to all teams involved

Way too good for us, never going to happen. Even though you gave logical and realistic reasons as to why Miami and GS should make the deal.
Nice idea, I will keep my fingers crossed.

nice trade idea. I would love a killer instinct like Jackson's in PHX.

First good trade idea in a while. It's great for Phx, but not too sure for Miami. Barbosa is playing Wade's position and he obviously can't run a team so he can't play point. Not exactly sure why Nellie would want Diaw. GS lose like 20ppg if they lose SJax.
I'd do this in a split second.

Killer instinct like Jackson? I'm afraid he'd LITERALLY kill someone.
Stephen Jackson is arguably the biggest thug in the NBA, no **** thanks.

Killer mentality like Kobe.
I'd take Jackson here anyday. This year is do or die, if i was GM i'd throw in evreything for a championship.

Haslem and Jackson combined saves the Suns roughly 2 million this year and same next year. If Suns can lure Hill for additional 1 year vet minimum thats roughly enough money to resign Barnes with portion of the MLE. Say 75% of MLE to Barnes and 25% of MLE to Strawberry. Vet Min for Hill. There is no way Suns waive Nash's last year as Suns will only have one MLE to resign Nash. Payroll wise this works favorably for the Suns.
Jackson is a punk for sure but he is exactly the guy who the Suns need. Someone who can go shoot long distance shots, slash, defend (think of how he and Barnes shut down Nowitzki) and more importantly go into the heads of our opponents in the western conference.
There is no need to explain if Haslem can coexist with Shaq. Suns can start the season with Amare/Shaq and Haslem/Lopez off the bench and depending on Lopez's development midway through the season I would like to see a starting 4/5 of Amare/Lopez and then Haslem/Shaq off the bench.
Ideal PT distribution:
Start of the Season
Starters: Nash (28) / Bell (28) / Hill (20) / Amare (32) / Shaq (20)
Off the bench: Drajic and Strawberry (20) / Jackson (28) / Barnes (20) / Haslem (24) / Lopez (20)
After All-star Break
Starters: Nash (28) / Bell (28) / Hill (20) / Amare (32) / Lopez (20)
Off the bench: Drajic and Strawberry (20) / Jackson (28) / Barnes (20) / Haslem (24) / Shaq (20)
Playoff
Starters: Nash (32) / Bell (28) / Hill (28) / Amare (36) / Lopez (12)
Off the bench: Drajic and Strawberry (16) / Jackson (28) / Barnes (12) / Haslem (20) / Shaq (28)

Good idea. I like Shaq coming off the bench after All-star break. I would also like Hill off the bench too.

Im sorry, did you just replace the most dominating 36 year old to ever play the game with a rookie? shaq off the bench? In the PLAYOFFS?!
Is this a gag thread and im just out of the loop?

^ Even Karl Malone was more dominant at 36. But that's besides the point. I have to agree with you here, we need Shaq to get us in the bonus early, though I'm not really sure how effective he'll be for us this season, nor do I care as long as he shows up during playoffs. Another season and another year older.

It's his self proclaimed title. But the point is moot when the discussion is about SHAQ OFF THE BENCH. Behind a guy who has yet to play one NBA game and is nearly half his age.
He would rather retire before the game started.

dude you sound like a pu***! I can't believe you said that! we need that killer instinct here in PHX. How many times have we choked in crucial moments? How many times did we need a big shot in the playoffs? Jackson is excatly what we need here. Someone to replace what we lost in JJ.
